Supreme Court smacks Trump down on foreign aid.

The majority noted that given a court-ordered deadline to spend the money last week had already passed, the lower courts should “clarify what obligations the government must fulfil to ensure compliance with the temporary restraining order.”

Well, that should be easy enough to sandbag.

Not at all. I'm just now reading but what the Supreme Court seems to have done is to tell the lower court that they do have the power to enforce the actions of Congress but they need to do it in a way that is reasonable.

The court initially ruled 36 hours. Now the court can say 30 days or something similar.

Need someone to audit to see if the work was actually completed prior to releasing the funds.....That takes time.

A pause can be put on awarding new work, but if a vendor has satisfied the terms of an order, they get paid.

The understandable counterpoint is that much of the "completed work" is possibly nothing more than corrupt money shuffling from one connected party to another.....That what the dems are skeered of.

Sorry, but "kickbacks owed" does not enter into it.

Actually it said the court has to be specific on what has to be spent, and then Trump can fight that as well.

No, they said they had to be more reasonable on how the money was to be released. 36 hours wasn't.

And they can't just say "spend the money" they have to be specific on what he has to disburse.

That will be a win for Trump even if he has to spend it, because he can point out the bullshit causes the money is going to be spent on.

The court isn't going to rule that way. Should be obvious by their first (36 hour ruling).

He can. Not that he actually has a clue or will be honest about it.

the District Court should clarify what obligations the Government must fulfill to ensurecompliance with the temporary restraining order, with due regard for the feasibility of any compliance timelines.

"Clarify what obligations" means the court has to tell them what they need to pay out and take into account the feasibilty of any demanded timeline.

However there is no way to enforce the ruling.

The court now has to tell them exactly what they have to pay out, and how long they have.

Now Trump's team can point to each one and say how much of a waste of money it is.

In that case, show me the work was completed, I take nothing on faith.

The good thing is no more will be approved without strict oversight so the piece of shit dems better enjoy the last of it.

I'll bet it is. Congress isn't passing a record debt budget without a ton of this stuff in it and if Trump signs it there will be nothing he can do about it.
