I was clicking through the channels this morning looking at several of the Sunday morning news programs and caught two stories in particular that caught my eye:

  1. The first was Liz Cheney on NBC I think. She went on about how she was a conservative through and through and an unmitigated Republican, then she went on to say that her policies were in complete lock step with Kamala Harris'! She painted Harris as a stable and reliable world leader who might save us from the next world war, while painting Trump as something diabolical somewhere between Jeffrey Dahmer and Genghis Khan who sends love letters to and admires brutal and oppressive world leaders and cannot be trusted with the office again because he might try to take over the world if not actually start WWIII. I'm paraphrasing a bit, but that was the general tone of Cheney's discussion.
  2. The other story that caught my attention was House Speaker Johnson on CBS I think. As usual, the lady moderator was sharp and curt with him often interrupting him and not allowing him to finish. But he began talking about the hurricanes and FEMA saying what a slow start they had dealing with Helene that he would be looking into, and as the CBS anchor tried to excoriate him for Congress taking a month off, he pointed out that the day before Helene hit, congress allocated 20 billion to FEMA for the hurricanes and that to this date, FEMA had only committed TWO PERCENT of the money (about 200 million) to actually helping people, so that not only is there no need for Congress to come back to work on more money, but that their hands are tied anyway since they must first get official assessments of the state needs before committing to more funds! But he was talking about a potential total expenditure for cleanup and help for the hurricane-hit states totaling in the 100 billion dollar area.

And Mayorkas refuses to say where that money went... we know where it went... it went to repay loans FEMA took out to settle and feed and house illegal aliens... when this becomes widely reported and it will the people of this nation will want prison time dealt out...

And Mayorkas refuses to say where that money went...

I've never seen Mayorkas even once directly answer a single question put to him. Nothing but bullshit comes out of his mouth. The kind of mindrot that federal agencies try to fill you with to program you to think "correctly" to assure that you "fit with the program." Worse, he does it with this look on his face as though he follows some noble cause. The man is literally unaccountable and sees himself as above the law.

Your students ended up as failures. Great job.
Your attempted repartee is pathetic.

P.S. My only students are those who read my posts. You do seem to be one of the failures.

Wow, that is something. You need to sharpen your teaching skills instead of producing failures.

He is so smug when he dodges questions.

My goodness, he is such a worm. 🐛 🪱

Pretty typical of the legacy media who are owned, lock, stock and barrel by the Democrats.

Mayorkas actually refused to answer a question from the DC press corps. Here he is evading and not answering.

Unless on grounds of national security (deemed so by the actual national security agency) that should be grounds for house arrest and eventual firing from his position with a total loss of all benefits.

They take after him, clearly.

As for the Sunday shows, wouldn’t it be great if the local TV stations would be required to, once a month lets say, have the mayor, county judge, head of the school board, District Attorney etc... and have a similar forum to discuss local events. Tape it earlier in the week and air it Sunday morning before Football. Whatever Harris or the Blob or Johnson come up with will likely mean very little for the nation on a day in and day out basis. The bond issue to build a new county jail or the unthinkable--giving educators a pay raise and some freedom to teach will have more of a lasting impact.
