Summer Camp!

So, it just so happens that there is a Chinese church a block away from where we live. My wife and I got to talking with some people at an annual 4th of July festival in our town who work there, and they invited him to join in their summer camp. They are very nice people, and they got a kick our of the fact that I can speak Chinese. He's really having a good time and making new friends. Today they trucked in a bunch of animals and the kids got to interact with them. We had to give him a shower as soon as we got home, but it was a good summer vacation day.

School years in the US are just wild in how much they vary. I know east coasters have a lot of summer camps in August, because mostly school doesn't start until after Labor Day. It seems most states begin mid-August. Here in MI we start the week before Labor Day; in some Southwestern states they start LATE JULY. Which blows my mind.

Anyway on topic: anyone who can speak English and the Asian languages is impressive. They are SO different.

Last day of camp today, and the boy doesn't want it to end. But, there are weekend programs in the fall.

What do you mean by "Chinese Church? Taoism?
Or is it Methodist or Presbyterian like the Korean church in my town? There is one, been by it many times.

I think they are Evangelical, but they don't push, they are nice people, and anyone with faith is ok with me

I have a lot of Korean friends. Many are very religious.
