I was not expecting to enjoy this movie as much as I did.
This is a role entirely different from anything Matt Damon has done before.
This movie is an obvious parallel to the Amanda Knox story. Knox was a college exchange student convicted of the murder of her roommate in Italy. She served five years in prison before being exonerated.
Damon plays an unemployed oil rig worker from Oklahoma who travels to France to visit his daughter in prison, and embarks on a mission to find the real killer.
The acting of all the characters in this movie is first rate.
