" State Legislatures Seek To Violate Us 1st Amendment By Respecting An Establishment Of Religion "

* Simple Conclusion Too Complicated For The Arrogant Myopia Of Religious *

There is an obvious difference between a state dictating that some religious artifact be displayed in a classroom and a state protecting a teacher from being dismissed for displaying a religious artifact .

* LEP As Example Of Lawyers Heisting Taxpayer Money *

. Attorney General Ken Paxton Appeals Flawed Injunction and Continues to Order That the Ten Commandments Be Displayed in Texas Schools .

Are religious zealots actually so stupid as to not understand the obvious ?

The 10 commandments is on the building that holds the SC

A State violation, if it can be said to be a violation, is the State; i.e., the Feds, create a church and telling the citizens that they MUST worship this denomination at their church.

Since hanging a ******* plaque on a wall with the 10 Commandments or other Scripture on a wall is NOT a ******* CHURCH, this is whining about being offended.

**** your offense and the horse it rode in on.

Paxton is simply trying to deflect from his marital affairs.

Paxton doesn't even know what the 10 commandments say.

The marble frieze is located above the courtroom bench inside the Supreme Court building. The line-up includes 18 great historical figures who played a role in establishing laws, such as Hammurabi, Moses, Muhammad , Confucius, Napoleon, and John Marshall.

By including Moses alongside secular figures like Hammurabi and Confucius, the display aims to show that the Ten Commandments have a broader historical and cultural significance within the context of law and justice, rather than solely a religious message.

The first amendment states this , ' Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; ... "

Let us know how a state mandate to post the ten commandments does not respect an establishment of religion , in that schools become an establishment of religion in the process .

Did you read the opening post that discerns between a state mandate to post a religious artifact versus an educator choosing to post a religious artifact in their own classroom ?

What is the name of the religion? Where do they go to worship that religion and what law states that American citizens will worship no other God or religion other than this one. <--This is called "The Establishment" of a national religion. Haning a piece of art IS NOT.

It is not a religious artifact. It is a display of the 10 Commandments. A religious artifact would be something akin to a piece of a physically real item that a Church had canonized.

I'm tired of the lies and the twisting of language that is used to forbid any and all religion from the public square, including schools and other government buildings.

It is nothing more than bigoted hatred for religion.

Not at all. I'm not even all that upset.

But there will be no mistake in my position, or just how wrong you are.

Of course, those who support religion in today's world have to do so from behind bullet proof glass to protect them from the religious bigots like those found here in this thread.

Personally I don't think the legislature should MANDATE that the Ten Commandments be posted in classrooms, not because it would violate the 1st Amendment, but because it is too limiting. I would approve the legislature passing a law that it would be a good thing to ALLOW the Ten Commandments as well as any other historical documents that affect our heritage, our laws, etc. to be posted in classrooms or anywhere else on public property.

To deny recognition of and teaching of the JudeoChristian heritage that went into the construction of our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and that has had a profound affect on our culture, our laws, our basic values as a people would be far more violation of the First Amendment than posting any document from ancient religious influence.

An antinomian edict is that by no name will a law be made , and the name of the religion would be that of the individual teacher , or principle, or state which is opining to display a religious artifact .

The challenge that us 1st amendment is being violated is not whether a religious artifact is displayed in a classroom , rather the challenge that us 1st amendment is being violated is whether an individual teacher decides to display a religious artifact in a classroom , versus whether a school principle or school board has authority , or us state has a power to dictate that a religious artifact be displayed in a classroom .

A display of the ten commandments may include standing through popularity however us republic and us republicanism are founded upon independence of the individual , whereas espousing populism to institute democracy as tyranny by collective majority , which is against independence of the individual , is a democrat premise and dissociation from a legitimate us republican party .

Consider again post #6 as context matters for the marble frieze above the courtroom bench inside the supreme court building , " The line-up includes 18 great historical figures who played a role in establishing laws, ... a broader historical and cultural significance within the context of law and justice, rather than solely a religious message. " .

The issue dependent on which institution is responsible for authorizing that a religious artifact be affixed .

The discussions as to whether an individual teacher should be allowed to display a religious artifact has ended up with religious zealots pushing for the state to mandate its religious artifact to contest individual teachers displaying rainbow flags .

The preference of this moniker is to stick with reading , writing , math and science , while individual public school teachers keep the non subject related personal religions to themselves , else seek to educate through private funding .

There is a history of motivations upon which us constitution was formed and independence of the people from a state with expectations for a religious heritage was one of them .
