‘The State Department is removing all posts on its public accounts on the social media platform X made before President Trump returned to office on Jan. 20, 2025.

X = Private Company

The State Department does not pay for storage space on it's own infrastructure for social media, that space is within the Private Company.

This was not a "free up space" process initiated by the private company.

The State Department removing from view social media posts that might be embarrasing to the current administration are not a "free up space" issue, it's about keeping the casual American people from going back and looking up posts. Because you know there are always past posts on a matter.

But the hiding action is being taken by the State Department not X as a part of their policy.

AND, the posts are still being retained, so there is no space savings as the data will be still be available via FOIA, so the posts are still there.
