In Starbucks it's not the drink you're paying for, it's the atmosphere.

That was the idea from the start and it worked to the tune of massive expansion and mega-billions in profits. Starbucks is a place where those who can afford to pay five bucks for a cup of coffee can sit around in comfortable chairs and socialize -- even plug in their laptops and go on line with Starbucks' Wi-Fi. And as long as you fit in with the intended atmosphere, and there's plenty of room, you can just hang out for as long as you like and you don't even have to buy a $5 cup of coffee, or even a $1.50 cup of water and a tea-bag. And you can even use the rest-room -- as long as you fit the atmosphere.

Hoodies and corn-rows simply do not fit the atmosphere the Starbucks founder had in mind and until now the mystique has remained a quietly held secret. But the cat is out of the bag and Starbucks is now being forced to announce that their cozy little hangouts are open to accommodate the hoodies and the corn-row ghetto-rats, even the smelly homeless who just want to use the rest-room, or to squat for a few hours -- and no one is going to call the cops on them. No, no, no.

1. This sensitivity workshop will NOT change any employee's opinion regarding the ethnic situation in our country.

2. It WILL, however, scare every single employee.

3. Starting today, all employees will completely ignore any kind of inappropriate conduct by certain individuals. Of course, the police will never, ever be called again to deal with certain individuals.

4. Word will soon get around that certain individuals are exempt from obeying rules and the law at Starbucks.

5. This decision of Starbucks executives may in some way signal the beginning of the end of the Starbucks empire.
