So I've never been able to figure this out. Well, 20 years ago, ok, policies weren't too crazy right? Still of late, I interact with many people from California and they are some of the nicest people. Even in youtube videos when they are traveling in Cali, such warm people.

I don't fully understand it. I will say though, that I can understand how if someone is living well in California that they wouldn't want anything to change in their government.

The reality is though that you are the United States for a reason.

I live here. Sometimes I wonder how long the people of California will tolerate the leftist insanity. There are many examples. I guess they embrace the Dem "We're the GOOD guys" story line.
It's mostly bullshit of course, but they cling to the idea as if it were gospel. And refuse to see reality.
Some of us can see right through it. Others can't. Some just want free stuff.
Welcome to the Golden State.

Cali is such a huge state. County governments in California are the size of other States. Cali is so diverse it's amazing. Small pockets of just about everything.

Put all of the people in states from New Hampshire down through New Jersey or below and you get a picture of just how diverse the state is.

Of course there exists majorities, but that focus leans towards missing the forest for the trees.

Sure, but like Texas for some reason, whether they are from a large city or a small town, they just seem more polite, engaging and energetic. Dare I say more tolerant.

Just my experiences.

Traveling allows one to meet people in ways that feed into being polite. I met wonderful people traveling for two years. Trumpers/MAGA some crazy, but others became my friends. Lefties, but I also met the troglodytes and misanthropes. Dangerous individuals, paranoid and open to every conspiratorial thing alive.

But mostly I met good people. Kind, polite, well meaning. We were strangers. It does say something about humanity.

There is nothing wrong with Caifornia.

Americans are some friendly folks. From cab drivers in Branson Missouri. Barbeque Pit Masters in San Marcos Texas (shout out to Hayes County BBQ!), brewers in Chico California, bartenders in Durango, CO.

California is a blast! I travel through that state fairly regularly. SF is spectacularly beautiful, the Wine Train in Napa is bucket list material, gorgeous coasts, red wood forests, Desolation Wilderness, micro-brewers, wild flowers, and friendly people.

Though it is fun to listen to some Californians talk smack about Texans. And my Texas peeps talking trash about California. With most of those folks talking mad shit never having been to the State they're badmouthing.

Ah, tribalism.

you dont live there im.....the quality of life for many has gone down a lot over the last 30 years...if you have money you get taken care of....

I have very liberal friends who are warm people. That does not mean they will vote Republican, for lower taxes, family values, lower gas prices and lower inflation, stopMaping the flood of illegals through our borders, stopping the murder of innocent unborns on demand, and teaching liberty in schools instead of socialism. I don't understand their thinking and never will.

Many millions of us Californians do want to change the woke stupidity of California government, the wasteful craziness of billions of dollars for a "high speed rail" system down the middle of the state, the out of sight wastefulness of spending on public education. But moving out is a lot of work, a lot of expense, and we have very solid roots here - family, friends, paid for homes, and arguably the best weather in America. One friend moved to Memphis and he's returning next week for good. Another moved to Dallas and he moved back last year. My brother moved to Florida and wished he hadn't.

We wuz borned hear.

People who wuz not wants to move hear firm everwhares. America has more immigrants than the next four countries in line combined.

I worked in a prison one time and most of the inmates were nice to talk to but they would steal your mother's social security check. Is there a point?
