Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm violated the Hatch Act when she endorsed the Democratic Party in her official capacity, the U.S. Special Counsel Office determined.

Great, a very important law that when broken, results in no penalty. How does a person rise to Energy Secretary w/o knowing the Hatch Act? Whatever happened to ignorance of the law is no defense? She should have been fined $10,000 and told that if it happened again, she would be removed from her post.
