Speaker Mike Johnson Considers Recess Appointments to Push Through Trump’s Cabinet Picks Including Matt Gaetz if Senate Fails to Do Its Job

The House can influence the recess appointment process. The House Speaker may propose a concurrent resolution for both chambers to adjourn, effectively facilitating the conditions needed for a recess appointment.

Alternatively, if the House and the Senate are unable to agree on adjournment, the President might use this disagreement to adjourn both, enabling the use of recess appointments,

It sounds as if he is publicly signalling to the Senate that being an outsider to the Establisment, or a pain in their sides; isn't a disqualifier,.in fact, it might be a feature this election cycle. The U.S electorate clearly voted for changes, it isn't the role of other branches to stimy the will of the people, it is their job to facilitate it.

People are afraid of Gaetz because Gaetz isn't afraid of anything. Do whatever it takes get him in there. We need a cleanup in aisles D,O and J.

Then why does the GOP do it when the Dems are in power?

we have had recess appointments in the United States, literally dating back to the first President of the United States of America

Nope the GOP changed the rules back during Oblama that when recess is called people stay there for continuance so no one can be 'snuck in'.
To note; cabinet position have been approved by the Senate since Washington, something Trump refuses to do.

It would be a dangerous precedent to set. I have no problem with the President appointing TEMPORARY authority when it is needed when Congress isn't in session, but if President Trump upends Congress by going over their heads for all appointments, you can bet the next Democrat President will do the same.

But then the process was followed with Biden appointments and we can see the horrors that have resulted from that. So I don't know. Maybe it's the only way we have to get things done.

I just wish both political parties would return to working for America and Americans so these kinds of things would not be an issue.

Recess appointments are a "precedent" that has already been set.

It only now has become an issue now because the vast majority of nominees used to sail through the process, no matter which administration was making them....Now it's the Senators of the party in power who are threatening to withhold support.

We are now witnessing in real time what Trump was talking about, and what libertarians have been warning about for decades, insofar as the Uniparty™ is concerned.

That's never been done in all of our history.

Only dictators do that.

If our dictator wannabe forces Congress to adjourn, that is 100 percent proof he knows his appointees are totally unqualified whackdoos he can't even get his own party to accept.

Oh please savior Trump, don't let the mean conservatives fire me, your loyal servant, Little Mickey.
