This series aired for 5 seasons from 2009 to 2013. I only just now discovered it on Netflix.

I am four episodes into Season 2 and wow! What a great show.

Up to now, the series has followed a rookie hitting the streets of South Los Angeles with his hardcase training officer.

It's all pretty glossy, even when we are presented some of the worst human experiences. Nevertheless, it's a great watch and I intend to watch it in the hopes all five seasons live up to the promise of the first two.

C. Thomas Howell was a mistake in casting. He detracts from the show.

Regina King is an outstanding casting choice. She is one of my favorite actors.

It's no Wired...but I enjoyed it~

Aside from CHiPs back in the 70's, I've never gotten into cop shows.
Too much fantasy. Too much gore in some, and just outright falsehoods in many others.

I don't consider it a "cop show", but I did love Dexter. Haven't seen the new series yet though.

to much gore in cop shows yet you watched Dexter?...

Dexter has a good story line where the gore fits into the story when needed.
I'm talking about gore for the sake of just doing it when the story line sucks or is non-existent.

If there's an actual reason for it, then it makes sense. Dexter is a psycho avenger of sorts, so it does fit in with the entire story line.

there is gore in the cops world...many crime scenes have gore....

Yeah, but its part of whats happening.......it isn't gratuitous for the sake of pandering to a bad storyline by excessive means.

I just finished this entire series.

Wow. It just gets better and better each season. It is unfathomable to me why they ended it after five seasons, especially as the last episode ends on an extremely dramatic cliffhanger.

The acting is incredible.

The fourth and fifth seasons had a well-deserved 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

I wonder what they were thinking when they didn't renew for at least one more season. It is obvious they intended to.
