Part of me thinks that this is a disaster for that business and they will lose a lot of sales.

But part of me is laughing because all of these tech snobs have been shafted.

Technically, it is a monopoly market. By changing the software, they can force you to buy new hardware. Microsoft is very good at this.

These systems can cost thousands. You would expect them to have a lifetime guarantee.
