What the he'll happened to Minnesota? I lived there from 1995-2001 ( I worked for United Healthcare in Minnetonka and lived in NE Minneapolis).

There was a sizable Hmong population in St. Paul but they were a quiet, tight-knit community. The Somalis were not really in Minneapolis at the time. Now, it seems like the Twin Cities are ******* crazy and the Somalis don't seem to have much desire to assimilate or fit in. In fact, I would say just the opposite. Is it as bad as it appears?

I live about 40 miles out if the Cities.
Our Hmong neighbor across the street moved out here to get away from the crap in the city.

Couldn't ask for better neighbors, the Hmong fought with US troops in Vietnam, they hunt and fish, and drink shitty American beer. Basically redneck Asians. I suspect they are MAGA.
They fit right in American culture.

The Somalians and those from the Middle east, not so much. They expect us to make exceptions for their culture.

The funny thing is Omar gets a lot of support from those guilty rich whites living in Minnetonka. I work on a lot of exclusive homes on that lake.

They pander to the notion of diversity, but wouldn't set foot in Mpls nor want any of those Somalians living next to them.

Rich suburban white women is Omar's main support.

They like Muslims as long as they stay in their own community.

Lots of Asians, especially East Asians, having no problem assimilating. In fact, lots of name calling against those who assimilated. White wash, white wannabe, white trash, etc. are common. Even for those don't fully assimilated, they don't give the US the middle finger or screaming racism on every contentious issue unlike certain demographics. They are glad the US gave them the opportunity in life where they cannot find in their native country. This is why lots of Chinese and Vietnamese support Trump. The Vietnamese leaned toward Trump more than the Chinese as displayed during the extremely peaceful protests on Jan. 6th.
