Yale Students Demand Removal of White Authors from Curriculum

Yale students are demanding that a course on “Major English Poets” be removed from the curriculum because it lacks diversity.

“It is unacceptable that a Yale student considering studying English literature might read only white male authors. A year spent around a seminar table where the literary contributions of women, people of color, and queer folk are absent actively harms all students, regardless of their identity,” the students write in the petition.

The “Major English Poets” requirement for Yale English majors focuses on the work of poets Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser, William Shakespeare, John Milton, William Wordsworth, and T.S. Eliot. Despite this lineup lacking the diversity that the students desire, it’s an accurate reflection of the figures who have most influenced English poetry.

According to the students, the “Major English Poets” course “creates a culture that is especially hostile to students of color.”

When witnessing such foolishness on campus, many questions come immediately to mind. For example, "Do their parents know that they are paying a lot of money so that their kids can act like idiots"? or, "Isn't there an adult anywhere in this situation?" Clearly these children should be violently slapped down for their ignorance.

The president of the college smiled at his group learning of his school and said: We think fences were put around colleges to keep the riff-raff out but in reality it was to keep some of the student body in.

What percentage of professors are democrats? 75%? You think such people that teach science, math and other advance skills for our society aren't intelligent.

There aren't very many people in the economic field that will agree with libertariansism as starving the economy is generally a very bad idea. It goes against the basic need for economic expansion that is necessary within a capitalist system.

Pretty much you have to argue against education as it is bad for your belief system. Now don't get me wrong, I think many things that go on the campus today are negative for a young persons development, but for conservatives to argue that the college is a bad thing...Well, you make my point.
