In the fast moving New World that the right was so gracious in giving us, Someone has to take on the responsibility to Keep these conservative informed. To show what they have achieved for us all. I have decide to do that for the glory of our new leader.

Government has already "borrowed" so much from the fund that they'll never pay it back. It's a mess.

When it started, it was supposed to be voluntary and I thought the limit they'd ever take as 3% of wages. Then they force everyone to participate. The fund was supposed to be in a lock box, safe from the grubby paws of politicians. Obama threatened senior citizens during the bed debt ceiling debate by telling them they might not get their checks. Those checks should go out no matter what. Wasn't sure if Obama was needlessly trying to scare them to get his way or if SS money was being put in general fund.

It has turned into another unsustainable liberal idea. Those close to retiring will have to rely on those snowflakes hiding in their safe spaces. I don't see it happening. Too many have their hands out and not enough willing and able to pay for other's retirement. And we have so many immigrants who received it shortly after arriving, not to mention the illegal aliens (like Obama's aunt) who received benefits.

Sometimes, money runs out. Just like in Greece. People were rioting in the streets because the government didn't have money to give them. I suppose libs want us to borrow even more to keep their programs going. Libs like to get people hooked on their programs to the point where they put the responsibility for their future on government instead of putting money toward their own plan. If people put the money they paid into SS into their own retirement accounts, they'd be far better off.

As Republicans predicted when Social Security was passed; It will soon turn America into a communist nation. We have only to wait for the Revolution.

^^^^^^^^^ Are you talking actual SS? Not the give away, the one that millions have paid into for years?

Big difference. One is OUR money from what we earned, the other is the governments money.(so to say)

Plus jbander do you have a link?

Good grief you know nothing about this subject so why try to contribute. I stop reading when I realize the responder is just blowing smoke. SS from day one, the money was put into the general fund it was never been set aside. It has changed names a couple of times only because of the name change of the general fund. It has always been handled the way I said. There are many ways to save this program, one is to have all income come under social security tax. That will add on many decades. Of course the obvious to save this program that this country can not do without , is to raise the SS tax rate. All money that goes into SS can only invest in Government securities. Even at that by just interest alone the money paid in has multiplied man man many times. Heres from 80 on. Compound those numbers Einstein.

Ha.Ha. OMG---

A Reich winger will NEVER look beyond the tip of their nose. They HATE immigration. Just the thought of it drives them crazy.

A brief explanation of what is happening to Social Security.

Back in the 1950's the average sized family was 4 kids. Over the last several decades families consist of 2 or less kids. Right now there are 10K baby boomers entering Social Security/Medicare on a daily basis and this will continue for the next 11 to 12 years, adding an additional 84 TRILLION in unfunded liabilities.

There are not enough younger people working in this country to support these funds. Right now it averages out to 1 working youth supporting 3 retirees.

Your choice is:
1. Do away with Social Security
2. Slash benefits to the bone
3. Raise the Social Security rate contribution on employees & employers
4. Raise the age one is eligible for Social Security
5. Means testing: Meaning someone who has paid into this fund all their life, doesn't get their benefits because they have other retirement income or are wealthy.
6. Immigration--to bring in younger workers to support these two funds.

There are no other choices.

Social Security/Medicare are 40% of the entire Federal Budget. That's why every single year we're having to raise the debt ceiling in order to keep up with these two funds.

No link, huh? Excuse me for trying to converse with you over it. I see now you just wanted to make a post and or talk to yourself.

I have researched it MUCH, and in detail, and I know what Trump has had to say about it. No one will be screwed. He may clean it up, and stop the fraud, but legit people will still have their SS.

Oh, and I was not trying to discuss it for myself. But was for my mother that has Alzheimer's.
