The National convention will tell the tale. I am just not sure what nationaly known name they may put out on the convention floor. They chased away RFKjr. so that leaves Clinton. Klobechuer would be a common sense choice if the entire party gets behind her.. Thats not too likely. It will be an interesting convention thats for sure. I have suspicion The RNC will not be a cake walk, look for a split in the party and maybe a permanent split with a new party being formed.

Right, democrats followed orders from Obama and unified under Joe. No way they'll do it again. There's no one leading the party who has enough pull to get the democrats to rally around 1 candidate weeks before voting starts.

That is their MO. Before the debate I was a diehard believer that unless Biden keeled over, he would be the nominee. Now I have switched teams. I just don't see Biden making it until November. The place is on fire burning out of control and they are unable to put it out. Blue states are falling like dominoes.

First of all, it's possible that Biden strokes out or has a heart attack at any time, he don't look good physically IMHO. Not wishing that to happen though. And it's possible that he bows out for health reasons, but maybe not until after the convention cuz then the party bigwigs will choose his replacement instead of the convention delegates. That way they avoid a very mess fight between the various factions that want this person over that one.

It's also possible that Biden himself is refusing to quit the campaign, whether at the behest of Dr Jill or not. But I do not see him as resigning from the presidency unless forced to by a stroke or heart attack. For one thing, if he did that then Kamala would assume the presidency and the Bidens do not want that to happen. And if she did then the Office of the Vice President would be vacant and thus the democrats would lose the tie-breaking vote in the Senate that Harris now has.
