So the true purpose becomes visible

I do

But entitled and entrenched guv workers inspire no confidence to that end
Government workers are the ones who investigate tax fraud, silly. Your lack of confidence is meaningless given you know nothing about them and are just operating off deep seated prejudice.

In return I say people should take shoplifting as the new national sport if this happens.
Blacks beat you to that idea.

IRS overstates who it prosecutes.

Who Goes to Prison for Tax Evasion?

Many people are afraid of IRS audits — and maybe even going to jail if they make a major mistake. In fact, fear of an IRS audit is one of the main reasons that people strive to file timely and accurate tax returns each year.

But here’s the reality: Very few taxpayers go to jail for tax evasion. In 2015, the IRS indicted only 1,330 taxpayers out of 150 million for legal-source tax evasion (as opposed to illegal activity or narcotics).

The IRS mainly targets people who understate what they owe. Tax evasion cases mostly start with taxpayers who:

  • Misreport income, credits, and/or deductions on tax returns
  • Don’t file a required tax return
The IRS doesn’t pursue many tax evasion cases for people who can’t pay their taxes. But, if you conceal assets and income that you should use to pay your back taxes, that’s a different story.

If you take your income tax records to 3 different IRS agents you wiil get 3 different opinions about what you owe

Then there is the case of former IRS Agent Joe Banister who quit them over them refusing to prove the law was legal to begin with.

This isn’t about tax increases. It’s about rooting out tax fraud. Now you don’t want to find fraud? Really?
1330 frauds per year. Think that will cost the USA a lot?

We should get rid of the IRS completely and use some other method to collect taxes which doesn't involve a bloated government bureaucracy of filing tax returns. No one anywhere likes to file tax returns.
I have the perfect solution. And have posted it for decades. Change to sales taxes. Those we never need to file over and merchants will send it in with their taxes.

Criminal vs civil. You’re not very bright.
Democrats can't resist insults. I told you want has been found. And found by the IRS.

The little guy doesn't get audited.
BINGO. Because he does not support the Federal Government by paying income taxes. He gets the feasts but not the cooking of the meals.

The IRS identified $37 billion in fraud in 2023.

Tell me why that isn’t worth funding their efforts.

First realize what happens. The IRS arrives at a number. But packs on enormous charges so the total dollars is enormous. But that was among maybe 1400 citizens who you clearly do not like at all. So what part of that $37 Billion did you pay in 2023?

If he actually proposes any we will see. Don't hold your breath.
He has, and he’s actually doing it, firing wasteful employees, cutting waste fraud and abuse…and your fellow brownshirts have only whined and threatened the lives of his staff
