So the republican solution to our healthcare system is as little government as possible right?

That is a bunch of made up fear mongering xenophobic bullshit. There is no need to provide "free "health care. Those people work and contribute to the economy. In fact we need them as labor. Some will qualify for health care subsidies under the ACA. So what? They also pay taxes. The health care industry and the wider economy benefits . Once again I will say, you people just bleat about the cost and never consider the benefits of government programs

In addition:

You have an unrealistic expectation

Migrants are pouring across the border by the millions each year

And they all demand free healthcare to be taken from the limited existing budget

Obviously you expect them to be treated alongside American citizens

So something has to give

In many respects reflected from world history, it is reasonable to suggest that too much government is not a good thing. However, “too much” is a very relative concept. There really is such a thing as “too little of government” and I mean that beyond the measure of anarchy as an alternative. Government, when designed properly, can benefit the lives of its citizens.
ACA is an important point to raise in the this topic. While it is certainly flawed and has failed in some of its promises in terms of affordability, it’s never the less improved healthcare in many ways. It has not changed that ACA has protection for pre-existing conditions for anyone who has health insurance. There is also a much higher cap for how much an insurance policy will cover for a medical event. The cap used to be 500,000 but it became 1,000,000 thanks to ACA. Now you can argue that ACA undermines the definition of insurance, but the point here is that healthcare should not be treated like insurance.

Corporate lobbyists own our politicians. Both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are slaves to big money. They are guided more by money than by principle. Both parties are bitches to special interests.

The goal of these lobbyists is to strengthen the power of the corporation’s will and to have less regulation by the government. With less government, what is to prevent the healthcare industry from undermining the healthcare their consumers need?

This is already true.

Insurance company: “Hey guess what, if you pay $600 a month, we will eliminate your deductible for basic healthcare needs!”

The point is that Big Pharma has a fiduciary responsibility to maximize profit for their shareholders. This includes undermining the plan the consumer signed up for to save money. Business is business after all.

Only government can ensure that consumers get basic healthcare services.
What year did people start getting professional medical care?

Whatever they are, they ruin for everyone else. And Government enables that.

The other thing is that once government is in....it's not getting out.
See post 310 and get the **** over it. Government is not the problems . You selfish and ignorant bastards are the problem

That would be great if someone could define when they stop. I am all for some kind of state (not federal) assistance. But social programs never stop. Egocentric politicians grab for power and are enabled by their big business supporters to maintain "non free market" conditions.

If government could be kept from continuall expanding (and the behest of big business) it would be a much more attractive solution.
Government programs never end because corporate greed and excess never ends. Government is not the problem, it is the solution

And they make less than a sports star who does nothing but play a ******* game

I have no problem with doctors making a lot of money. The schooling they have to go through is incredible.
Yet you complain about health care costs? 🤦‍♂️

Sorry are the one who needs to turn your bar stool right side up.

The federal government is a huge problem. The founders warned against it and it has fullfilled their worst nightmares. They now regulate all kinds of things they shouldn't.

With respect to health care, I think I've gone on record as saying (even in this thread which you might could read is your head was outside of your colon) that I would favor state run systems. Not a federal system.

I appreciate your desire to spend my money the way you want. I'll spend it for taxes....the way I want.

And you can GFY.

Government programs never end because corporate greed and excess never ends. Government is not the problem, it is the solution

You stupid dumbass.

Corporate American uses the government to get what they want. I've watched it first hand.

Saying government is the solution is the ultimate admission of stupidity and blind faith.

You have nothing in history that confirms that statement.

i don’t even know what your point even is. It’s obvious you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. You aren’t even disagreeing with me besides telling you how dumb leaving it to the states is. How do I know states can’t handle this issue? Because obviously they haven’t done anything to improve it.

And governments have proven they can't provide good quality health care time and time again.

Canada is a prime example.

I wonder if hikerguy complains as loudly about the price of football tickets as he does healthcare. I know that the salary of our quarterback, Drew Brees, over the course of his 16 year career as a QB for the Saints. earned him over 200 MILLION DOLLARS. In that 16 year period. he only went to. and won, ONE superbowl.

Most doctors make less than 500 grand a year. And they have LIVES at stake EVERY DAY. They have to be PERFECT every day. all day long. or else could be liable for a wrongful death and sued for MILLIONS.

I wouldn't do that shit unless I made millions every year. I don't know about you, but I'll hire the cheapest plumber or electrician before I want to hire a cheap doctor.

HikerGuy83 gave up on pro sports a long time ago, in part due to the amount of money that it generated in general. When a friend of mine told he that he and his wife agreed that they would downsize their house ahead of giving up their Chiefs season tickets........I was stunned. To each his own.....but that ain't me. No ticket is worth that much money.

I am not supporting poor role models who make 50 million a year and produce nothing but entertainment. BTW: I don't go to the movies a great deal anymore either. I can afford both but I chose not to.

The AMA restricts the number of doctors that are turned out. Well, guess what.....every heart doctor I have ever visited had the last name of Patel and had a heavy indian accent. My last GP was a female from India. All great doctors, but had me wondering why, in this age of low-grade employment, more kids don't go to medical school. I don't know. But I still wonder.

Doctor Trump will see you now ...

The claim the government is the solution is the ultimate in denial.

I was stunned to read that.

When I say government I mean federal government.....to be transparent.

Everytime I see Biden, McConnell, Schumer, Pelosi, Gaetz, Bobert, Green, or others on TV my first thought is "And we want to put this clown show in charge of our healthcare).

Many people in Arizona go south of the border for dental care.

There are facilities there that have all they need to diagnose and treat in one day. It is form of medical tourism. But the reviews are pretty glowing and more people are doing it. Someone told me the facility they went to looked like NASA. it had all the latest gismos and the techs to use t hem.

The free market at work.

I'll bet Billy000 could find a place for a brain transplant. Maybe get rid of his for one that works.

No, you dumbass. It amazes me you can exist. You clearly can't walk and chew gum at the same time.

as little FEDERAL government as possible.......

It is forbidden by the Constitution.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Healthcare is not mentioned in the Constitution and it is not covered by any of the other clauses in there.

The biggest mooching deadbeats of them all are the bureaucrats who run the system...They get paid while you fill out all their worthless and superfluous paperwork.

For all the wailing about health care costs, I recall reading (have not looked recently) that something like 50% of our spending is done by about 5% of our population. A lot of that is end of life care.

That needs to change.

Yet you complain about health care costs? 🤦‍♂️
Where have I done that? I pay out of pocket. I don't have health insurance, but I have lots of doctor friends, so they give me deals, and I pay them cash.
