so many eggs!

They're there. You just have to get out of the hotel zones.
The reason the chickens are all over is due to a hurricane hitting them years back.

Feral chickens roam on most Hawaiian islands, with Kauai having a particularly large population, but they can also be found on Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.

Here's a more detailed look:
  • Kauai:
Is known for its large feral chicken population, with some estimates suggesting there are more chickens than people on the island.

  • Oahu:
While not as densely populated as Kauai, feral chickens are also present on Oahu, even in urban areas like Honolulu.

  • Maui:
Feral chickens are also found on Maui, and there are reports of them being relocated.

  • Big Island:
Feral chickens are also present on the Big Island, though not as prevalent as on Kauai.

Coincidence -- the Seattle neighborhood I lived in when I had the neighbors who kept hens was Fremont, but it had been urban/suburban forever when we lived there.

.
Did you ever live in Fremont??? Your words say you lived in the Seattle Area.

What I HATE about cage-free eggs from any store is they snap, crackle, and POP, after being in the skillet for a couple of minutes. Part of one popped onto my clothing the other day. Switched from the cage-free Cherry Lane brand to cage-free Lucerne eggs from Safeway and they are better. Less popping. Cage-free eggs are all I've seen in Safeway for many months. Putting a lid on the skillet is very helpful.
That sounds like a selling point, rather than a downside. And yes, I do cook the eggs in my house. I've never noticed that. Are you letting water get into your pan somehow? Or a watery fat like imitation butter?

To the thread: I buy cage-free eggs, because I hate the idea of animals in cages. I'm a meat eater, but I don't like for chickens or any other animal to be caged. I don't go to the zoo for that reason.

But that's me and I'm weird about it, I know. Unlike Democrats, I don't expect the law to reflect, promote, and mandate my particular weirdness.

If you have a Super One in your area, they carry it as well.

We did much of our shopping at Fred Meyer, when we lived in Seattle. I thought it was convenient, and it was pleasant until the derelict RV's overtook the neighborhood and the thugs started selling drugs in what was a decent neighborhood.

I just looked at the FM store in Fremont on Google maps and saw that they've filled the parking lanes around there with concrete Jersey barriers to direct the miscreants elsewhere.

Cage-free is more humane for the little ovals of joy. Fresh air; room to run around.
This is cage free. Don't be fooled by a sells gimmick feel good leftist trick.

We bought three dozen eggs just an hour ago from a friend who has cluckers. $3.50 per dozen.

Oh look: One of them still has some chicken shit on it. That's extra protein and adds flavor. :laughing0301:

I've been there many times over a forty something year period. I am aware.

They have a FM in Spokane, nice store in a nice part of town but it is too far away from me. So we have to make do with Super 1, Walmart, Harvest Foods, and Safeway.

Safeway was my second favorite, but the same thing happened in the alley behind the Safeway in Port Angeles -- tents and derelict RV's.

.

Wow, I figured Port Angeles was far enough away from Seattle that it would still be fairly untouched by the homeless.
.

It was when we moved there from Seattle, but it turned in a couple of years. We heard that Seattle and Portland were sending their addicts to PA for treatment, with zero contingency for post treatment, other than to let PA take care of it, as it had become their problem.

This is most of why I decided, after losing my husband, to move home -- South Dakota. My tiny rural town is clean and quiet and safe, and if the county sheriff's deputies have the slightest hint of anything untoward going on, they post a warning in our local FB page.

We are well armed and don't take shit.

I checked here in Idaho for that Irish Butter and for half a pound at the Fred Meyer store it costs $4.49. When I next buy butter I plan to get some. Fred Meyer is a Kroger store. They tried to merge Kroger with Albertsons which started in Idaho.
yes they did and they are, kroger is a massive liberal company, glad it fell through
walmart of course will have the better price than albersons, I have one of those and Rosauers and winco
Rosauers has some good stuff not at any of them but it's expensive

Idaho in general is Republican yet Democrats rule the city of Boise. Albertsons HQ is there. My son likes the local Walmart. We both like Winco but for pennies more and delivery service, he buys Fred Mayer sales and some from Walmart. Winco is a very excellent store to shop at.

correct, most big cities even in red states tend to turn blue with those from CA, OR and WA moving there. I recall the deal with winco is they don't take a CC, I don't carry cash and I don't write checks, why would I get 2% back of my own money?
I don't have a fred meyer, previous location yes but I rarely shopped there, selection was just OK but their price were always high

I believe that WINCO is definitely cheaper and also they are enormous in store size. I also love COSTCO and one is not far from where I live. But We don't shop there either.

My hangup is the whole credit card issue, I have a costco and it's always packed every time I drive by it, it's nuts. I went in there as a guest but eh, I was not super impressed, prices are decent if you buy a years worth of a product and I don't use that much
