What is so confusing to the liberal mind about forcing the federal government to cut spending? Maybe it's an incomplete education in Civics. Government does not generate income. It confiscates it. Cutting spending in a fragile economy is essential. Cutting confusing regulations that stifle the economy and allowing middle class business owners (and rich business owners) to keep more of the money they earn in order to hire more people and expand their business is also essential. If it wasn't for the GOP win last fall we wouldn't even be having this argument. Grinning joking Obama would still be talking about "shovel ready jobs" that weren't shovel ready while throwing our grand kids money at democrat backers and foolish programs like cash for clunkers. He would be hiring more communists for his green jobs board to plan for jobs that don't exist and telling us lies about alternate sources of energy that don't exist or don't work.

Your side knows no compromise. You hold your collective breath like a petulant child in a toy store. You swear that Businesses need more breaks and less taxes, but if you take off your Conservative spectacles off, you'd see that those breaks and tax cuts have a huge impact on why the economy tanked in the first place... simply because those business entities have not held up to their side of the bargain. They cry for more and more, saying that they need it to create jobs and make America a stronger country... but when they get them... they simply pocket the windfall and keep on doing what they do.... then the process starts all over again.

I swear i feel that their goal is to keep the vast majority of American poor and uneducated and to marginalize the rest until they fall into poverty financially and have no power at all.

But what i don't understand is what is their end game? Is it global domination? Is that what their game is? To use their power to "take over" the world? There has to be a reason for them to keep lowballing the American Worker and hoarding wealth.... to keep getting into foreign markets for labor sources and making those countries dependent on them for their own revenue.

but the bottom line is that Trickle Down Economics is a complete failure and it will destroy this country unless we do something about it.

Yup. Point of the original post. At my last board there was an asshat mod (redundant? I think not) who basically felt America's time in the sun was done, and that's no big. And of course, just like the rest of the "ENVY!!!!" shriekers, he wasn't a man of means. But the rich need to keep all their monies!!! (for reasons I've yet to understand) - while the poor get poorer and there is no middle class.

It's already begun. They're not going to leave while there is still money to hoover out of America. But they will. And hey! They ARE creating new jobs.

I can answer the bush tax cut question.... because he's not a Socialist, Communist or Marxist. Furthermore, he's not a Fascist, a Conservative, or a Republican.

You know what he is? A Politician. The ridiculous demonizing of Obama is just as stupid as the deifying of them that you accuse Progressives of. He is very much a slightly left of Center moderate. But because of extreme right wing pundits and PERHAPS his skin color... he's been demonized as the second coming of Stalin.

He extended the Bush cuts to keep unemployment benefits for those that would be thrown out into the streets without them.... it was a COMPROMISE towards a group of people who are rarely willing to. The problem is... extending those Bush tax Cuts is hurting the country more than it would have been to let unemployment stop for the 99ers and let them go on welfare. So in this particular battle... Obama screwed up.
