Testing season is upon us again. Endless hours of mind-numbing proctoring, scoring, recording and evaluating starts today.

“Separating the wheat from the chaff" takes time, energy, and is important.

See Matthew 3:12 and Luke 3:17

Well, except it does exactly none of that!
Well. You cant just ask people how smart they are. Testing works which is why they have done it for centuries. There are some outliers in the process that testing doesnt measure well, whether its environmental or individual, but generally, testing works. Right?

It could be worse. I am about to spend 3 weeks and a pretty penny on continuing Ed for licenses I no longer use. I keep them up in case I ever have to go back to work full time. This seems to be more and more likely as the cost of everything goes up.

What do they do with that data? Absolutely nothing relating to the individual kids. That is the issue. It doesn't do a damned thing for the kids. Fail the test? Nothing happens. Would you do well on a test on nuclear physics if I told you your score didn't matter, but you simply had to take the test?

Some tests aren't pass/fail, they are intended to compare individual student performance year to year. That data can then be evaluated on larger scales to measure trends over time.

Can't. Test materials have to remain secure. So, the next few weeks' schedule will be all mixed up. Plenty of other stuff to do at home though.

My ex sister-in-law was a teacher and she did a lot of stuff at home like you do, that's why I asked.
