We started to watch "One Battle After Another" - HBO
We had no knowledge about the movie. But it took a whole 45 seconds or so to start wondering "what is this?"
And then about 10 minutes in - we turned it off.
It is just like his other movie "Look Up"
Dumb as hell, uber over the top left political messaging and woke as hell.
Despite everything the critics and the misleading trailers do to trick you into watching it - the movie BOMBED.
Lost $millions of dollars, and it's early TV release is also failing to gain an audience.

But if course Hollyweirdos and critics ******* love it. Can't stop praising it.
I can tell you in just the first 10 minutes we watched - never mind the off the shelf woke and political messaging - it is just dumb. What is supposed to be funny is cringy. What is supposed to be action and thrilling is laughably unrealistic and stupid.

One crappy movie isn't enough to bury anyone's career. Plenty of actors recovered just fine after stinky performances.

It isn't one crappy movie.
Look Up is another recent movie of his that was equally an over the top woke mess, and also lost $millions.

Apparently, your opinion is not unanimous...

The most expensive film of Anderson's career, One Battle After Another received widespread critical acclaim, grossing $205.1 million on a $130–175 million budget and becoming the highest-grossing film of Anderson's career. One Battle After Another was nominated for nine awards at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, receiving the most nominations of any film that year.

Based on the wiki article, I'd give it a look.

Wiki???
Really???
HAHAHAHA!!!

i did see it, but it missed whatever is political in it. I guess i wasnt paying attention. There was a scene at the beginning near the southern border, but i would need to watch it again to see what might be triggering. Or is it just that it has two black female actresses in leading roles?

You're just pissed because it portrays republicans as authoritarian whack-jobs.

Accurately I might add...
