WHY LANA LEFT THE SHOW.

Kristin Kreuk left Smallville after season 7 (with a brief return in season 8) because her original contract had ended, and she was ready to pursue other acting opportunities after spending her entire young adult life on the show. She also felt her character, Lana Lang, had completed her story arc and wanted her to achieve independence, rather than remaining in a, at times, repetitive love triangle with Clark.


LANA was getting ready for that new show she was slated to star in just shortly after smallville ended BEAUTY AND THE BEATS we talked about once before remember?


Key Factors for Her Departure:

• Contractual End: Kreuk was under contract until the end of the seventh season and chose not to renew, allowing her to branch out into other film and television roles, say SlashFilm and IMDb.
• Creative Directions: She was dissatisfied with the direction of her character, finding some plotlines, like those in a particular Season 6 episode, frustrating and inconsistent with the character she wanted to portray, notes this YouTube video.
• Desire for Independence: Kreuk felt that Lana's story was complete and that the character should remain independent, rather than returning to the core romance with Clark in the final seasons.
• Storyline Necessity: As the show began to focus on the traditional Superman mythos, it was necessary for the storyline to transition from Lana Lang to Lois Lane.

Kreuk returned for a five-episode arc in Season 8 to bring closure to the Lana and Clark relationship, as reported by Collider and Reddit users.

More Lois, and an annoying sister. Very weak plot.

Hey, I saw Lucy was greeted by the dog.

Jason demanding the stone from Lionel seems a bit fishy. Does he need it for his own powers?

Then Lex puts up the money and loses the ransom money and the girls. How original. Lol

Oh, Clark is flying now.

This is the worst episode of the series so far. I long for the days with Pete. Lol

That was cute when Lex tells Clark he sees him closer than any blood brother but we already sensed that. He has nobody else.

Lana stole the stone. She doesn’t trust Jason, does she? Either that or she needs the stone trio.

These conversations between Lex and Lois are so meaningless. They don’t even leave one feeling good about it. You know, Natalie Wood was a great actress; she would have brought a young, playful, adventurous, and feisty attitude this role deserved. “Love with the proper stranger” brought out all those qualities in her acting. It is one of my favorite movies.

When he is with Lana, he shows disdain for Jason as he fawns over her and tries to force her to come live with him.

Bad Lex is as evil as you said. He murdered the lab technician. He then tried to kill Clark and Chloe because they discovered his secret. And now Lex knows Clark’s secret and his weakness. On top of that he will threaten to kill Clark’s loved ones if he doesn’t join him.

All of this in one episode.

The good thing is that Lex doesn’t remember what happened but Lionel is back badder than ever. He acknowledges that Lex is a true Luther after witnessing the worst in him.

Everybody hated Chloe. When did that change?

Martha did a great job impersonating dawn. Lana did too!

The music is superb! The prom decor and theme are spot on. The fashion is upscale. Both Lois and Lana’s dresses were beautiful and not gaudy.

This is an entertaining episode. Chloe is close to pulling off a “Carrie” situation thanks to dawn. Clark using a green meteor rock was ingenious.

And finally a great ending. Clark gets to dance with Chloe.

well at the time i thought that was going to be true because a couple of davids friends told me that they would watch it but one after she watched the pilot episode,kept blowing me off and never got back to me so i finally gave up on her and the other said she would start watching it with her kid so but she never did either so i had to give up on her as well.

well guess what? THIS time I have a couple of people that i know for SURE i WILL convert to get them to watch it. One of them is a good friend of mine and he said he would and when he says he will do something he will do it,the other one is my barber so i shall just have to wait and see because as i said before,her workplace has client/worker relations ship rules so i cant email her and talk with her about it so i will have to wait till my next appointment to find out if she is just all talk and no action like daves friends are.

I have learned my less now,you want to convert people to get them to watch the show? dont ask daves friends to watch it,ask my OWN friends.

BTW,it is soooooooo funny how the reason BOTH Lois and chole are so annoying is because they are both gay.Chole being totally gay and Lois BI.

well my hunch was right,that he has been a good boy this whole time till now,but bad Lex got bad Lionel to come out. Now that his bad side has come out,you will notice he goes back and forth being bad Lionel and then good Lionel again.clarks goodness is still in him so so it keeps him from going completely permement bad Lionel again when his dark side emerges at times.

Clark gets his memory back but still lets Lana know he wants to start over.
That looks promising.

i always wonder WHY the media lies like that when it is so easy to find out if it is the truth. Here is another example of how the media lied one time when so many KNEW they were lying.


there was this game between the chiefs and the then oakland raiders on a national monday night football telecast. At that time they were talking about the raiders moving to vegas so oakland fans on a corld dark dreery night PACKED the stadium even though it was a nasty cold night with a nasty downpour of rainfall they STILL packed the stadium you could tell,not one empty seat i could see,they were there with signs that said STAY IN OAKLAND.

yet the kansas city star went and blatantly lied about the whole event sating that the conditions were too harse for the fans so most stayed home and there was a bunch of empty seats everywhere.

WHY would they lie about an event like that when MILLIONS of people and kansas city were watching the game so they same as me ALL knew they were LYING?

well I just got back from the kansas city comic con,i got to talk with tom briefly.I was very dissapointed,the first time i saw him in st louis they allowed me to talk with him for a good portion of time,same with the time i first met john, THIS tme though,they rushed me through so i did not have enough time to talk with him about being a hero so that sucked. I did however have the chance to tell him that i met him once before and i said that the hul along with smallville was my favorite show ever cause i loved bill boxby and i asked him if he remembered me talking to him about bill bixby and sure enough he did.

i was correct in my thinking when i asked him had anybody ever talked with about bill bixby before and just as i knew he would say,he said no.nobody had done that.

Lex shows his true colors as always that he not a real friend to clark by stealing that document from his loft and then LYING to him at the end saying he went to the loft with him to try and help him with his experience of having amnesia when he was REALLY after the secret clark knew about the caves trying to find that out from clark.

good for kevin he knows the truth that his dad was an asshole for lying to him making him believe HE killed his brother when it was his dad all the time.

Lana was smart to turn clark down when clark said he wanted to date her again and he said things will be different this time to where she makes it clear she doesnt want to go down that road again by saying THIS TIME? well done Lana.
