"Sinners" gets a record 16 Oscar nominations

? No, unless you consider a 1,500 Irish vampire drawn to a musical siren to be MAGA.
A vampire movie uplifted to be on the precipice to winning the academy award for est picture. Why? Teh white racist angle again. The Oscars for the most part exclude films like horror, comedies, etc. This film most likely has a chance to eon MST 3000 in several years than to be remembered as a masterpiece. I like and heard of a couple of actors in it. Did the film that did win have a right-wing type of hatred going on.

Can you rephrase that in English?

The movie is absolutely excellent. Slow at the beginning but builds. Its not a horror movie. Thats the excuse for the action. Its really a film about the music.

Its awesome especially if you like older music.

That scene where the kid was playing his guitar at the juke joint and all the past and future spirits appeared and joined in was really well done.

Vampire movies don't win Oscars.

Except when they trash white people.

Sean Penn finally got another Oscar.

How did he do it?

He played the role of a guy that everyone in Hollywood hates......a white warmongering A Hole with a bad haircut. Not to mention the fact that Penn plays a really good A hole, maybe because he's had plenty of practice.

It also helps that the movie many people didn't see (and was panned by early reviews) won the Oscar for best picture.

Sort of reminds me of a movie that won on buzz instead of substance in the past. (Parasite)

One can't help to think that Sean Penn also looks like a leftist stereotypical ICE agent in this film.

That must have really helped.

Sean also pulled a blatant Hollywood stunt by not even showing up for his award, making himself look like George C. Scott when he won a best actor award for his portrayal of General George S. Patton.

I have yet to meet anyone who has seen any of the nominated movies. If a member here has seen them let us know your opinion of them and if they deserve a nomination.
I started to view the DiCaprio film. It was incredibly idiotic. I rarely decline to view a film to even the bitter end. I stopped that drek by 1/3rd of the show.
