A classic “sign of extremism” in politics today: Republican Representative Matt Gaetz, speaking before a crowd at the “family-friendly” Iowa fair, standing right next to President Trump, said:
Gaetz followed with a remark about everyone having to work hard to get Trump elected. Clearly his words were not in themselves a crime, but they clearly show a willingness to endorse & encourage more violent actions like we saw on Jan. 6th.
"Mr. President, I cannot stand these people that are destroying our country. They are opening our borders. They are weaponizing our federal law enforcement against patriotic Americans who love this nation as we should," Gaetz said.
The crowd reportedly applauded his comments and Trump, standing next to him, nodded but said nothing on the use of force."We love standing with you. But we know that only through force do we make any change in a corrupt town like Washington, D.C.
