My LGS called me this morning and said they got in a German G43 rifle they wanted me to check out.....I got there and the rifle was not all that condition wise so I passed.

I asked what else they got in and besides a Remington-Rand M1911A1 they took in a very nice Ortgies .32 pistol/holster/extra mag.

Well shit, I had bought one in 7.65 a few years ago but the price was right so I took it home.....It's the one on the right.

Both are later sixth variant pistols.....Likely made around 1922 or so.

As far as I know factory holsters were never available for them so there are many styles that were made for them. Both of the holsters that came with the pistols were made of pig skin.

It was said that at the time it was considered much more important to Germany to keep as many people working as possible so a gun maker would not step on the toes of the leather guild.
