When President Donald Trump authorized an overnight military action Saturday in Venezuela to capture Nicolás Maduro, he said the goal was to bring the Venezuelan leader to the United States to stand trial on drug trafficking charges — and to take control of the country’s oil fields.

But some prominent far-right figures — as well as a top U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) official — are suggesting Trump actually captured Maduro for another reason: Because the Venezuelan strongman has key evidence to support a fringe conspiracy theory that his country helped voting machine companies rig the 2020 election.

Even Trump himself appears to be flirting with the conspiracy. The president has posted several videos on social media promoting false claims about Dominion voting machines since Maduro’s capture.

“Dominion was bought by a Republican company. Maduro was captured & is sharing evidence w/federal prosecutors,” Rogan O’Handley, a notable conservative commentator and lawyer, posted on social media Monday. “President Trump is posting videos about Dominion election rigging & says 2020 election fraud will be exposed in 2026. Yeah I’d say the dominoes are being lined up.”

She falsely claimed that a supercomputer called Hammer hacked votes, that Mr. Trump won the election by “millions of votes” and that voting software company Dominion Voting Systems altered the tallies.

Last week, she promised that coming evidence would overturn the election’s results and said she would “release the Kraken,” a reference to the 1981 movie “The Clash of the Titans,” reprising a catchphrase that began trending on Twitter.

The excerpts from Ms. Powell also included numerous inaccurate claims to imply a similarity between Venezuela’s elections and the U.S. election, chiefly drawing dubious parallels between Smartmatic and Dominion, which was used in several key states. Ms. Powell took the claims one step further, telling the right-wing media company Newsmax that Venezuela’s vote counting system was then “exported” to the United States.

I don't think we have to worry about Venezuelan influence on the outcome of our elections any longer. Quite the opposite. If past is prologue we can expect a trump sycophant to be the future leader of Venezuela. The only remaining question being the nationality of said leader.

No cases went to court. The evidence has never been allowed to be presented in front of a court. That's why nobody has ever been able to explain Alzheimer patient Biden who didn't campaign getting 81 million votes, by far the most in American history and the greatest percentage of the vote relative to the population of ANY candidate ever, including landslide winners--despite running against a popular incumbent, Trump, who got 74 million votes and polled better than 2016 when he kicked Hillary's ass.

And the reason nobody can explain it is because it didn't happen. There had to have been massive fraud. No other way.
