Siberia burning

Scientists say that the huge fires have been made possible by the extraordinary summer heat in recent years in northern Siberia, which has been warming faster than just about any other part of the world. And the impact may be felt far from Siberia. The fires may potentially accelerate climate change by releasing enormous quantities of greenhouse gases and destroying Russia’s vast boreal forests, which absorb carbon out of the atmosphere.
how is that because of CO2?

True but trump is a dumbass.
Lets face it. He doesnt have the best words. lol
I doubt he meant people were out there with rakes.
actually what he meant was people who live near forests should clean out the underbrush that feeds fires in forests. removing dry underbrush removes the kindling that feeds a fire. It's called effort to prevent ones house from going up in smoke.

He cant clarify. He is an idiot. Like when he implied we should shove light bulbs up our ass. That clearly wasnt what he was talking about because the doctor he was talking to was working on UV light as treatment.
He is stupid but i doubt he meant people rake 100s of thousands of acres with their hands.
Harley, you are a charitable guy. I am not so sure that he knew, had a clue or cared. He is and has always been an attention whore. He got is measure of attention on his statement, insulting western states, their governments elected leaders, etc., and that was all that was in his little mind. Donny didn't clarify or have anybody else clarify because the insult part of the statement and approval of his moronic minions was the only real point.

Trump didn't use PC to talk. He told you to your face you're a schmuck if you're a schmuck.

That is true, but an area burning the size of Florida is not normal. Consistant 100 degree days are not normal in Siberia either, but there they are. 30,000 square miles has burned this year alone and the fire season just started two weeks ago.

Really you know what is normal for the region?

How many years of fire data do you have for Siberia?

The worst fire in RECORDERED history was in Siberia in 2003 burned 47 MILLION acres.

LOL Damn, but you are stupid. Ever been on the fire line in a crown fire? I have. You can clean out underneath the trees all you want, but in a crown fire, the fire is in the top of the trees, and hot enough to set your house on fire with radiant heat alone. If the trees are closer than 100 ft., they are a danger to the structure.

And just how does one "fix" climate change?
In your lifetime? One doesn't. So you care or you don't, with this in mind. We can apply fixes now that have their greatest effects after you are feeding the worms.

In the long run, by first reducing the amount of fixed carbon we take out of the ground and add to our carbon cycle. Then, we try to capture some that is already in then carbon cycle.

That's the thing about climate change: It all boils down to only a few, simple , forceful ideas. In all the myriad forms it takes in our ecosystems, it all boils down to the fixed carbon we are quickly adding to our carbon cycle. That's the driver. That's the change in human activity that is changing the climate.

The vast majority of Siberia is unpopulated so there is no one to fight the fires, and almost no roads to act as fire breaks.
So once a fire starts in the forests of Siberia, it's just going to burn until it starts raining or the winter snow starts. ...
Probably like it has 100,000,000 times before.

Discussion of Siberia's past?

The climate k00ks dont like that much........its always about the immediate present. :eusa_dance: :eusa_dance: Ghey
What you mean is that you are too fucking lazy to actually research on this subject.

Abstract

Forest fires play a key role in the global carbon cycle and thus, can affect regional and global climate. Although fires in extended areas of Russian boreal forests have a considerable influence on atmospheric greenhouse gas and soot concentrations, estimates of their impact on climate are hampered by a lack of data on the history of forest fires. Especially regions with strong continental climate are of high importance due to an intensified development of wildfires. In this study we reconstruct the fire history of Southern Siberia during the past 750 years using ice-core based nitrate, potassium, and charcoal concentration records from Belukha glacier in the continental Siberian Altai. A period of exceptionally high forest-fire activity was observed between AD 1600 and 1680, following an extremely dry period AD 1540–1600. Ice-core pollen data suggest distinct forest diebacks and the expansion of steppe in response to dry climatic conditions. Coherence with a paleoenvironmental record from the 200 km distant Siberian lake Teletskoye shows that the vegetational shift AD 1540–1680, the increase in fire activity AD 1600–1680, and the subsequent recovery of forests AD 1700 were of regional significance. Dead biomass accumulation in response to drought and high temperatures around AD 1600 probably triggered maximum forest-fire activity AD 1600–1680. The extreme dry period in the 16th century was also observed at other sites in Central Asia and is possibly associated with a persistent positive mode of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO). No significant increase in biomass burning occurred in the Altai region during the last 300 years, despite strongly increasing temperatures and human activities. Our results imply that precipitation changes controlled fire-regime and vegetation shifts in the Altai region during the past 750 years. We conclude that high sensitivity of ecosystems to occasional decadal-scale drought events may trigger unprecedented environmental reorganizations under global-warming conditions.

CO2 has not been shown to drive climate change, dummy.

That treasonous far senile old orange clown has zero admirable characteristics. He is a psychotic liar, as are his admirers.
I remember working in the inner city and we had a lot of row homes. Anyway when on many blocks on the porches there would be many unwed mothers with children making fun of and making vicious verbal attacks of local gay guys or other people walking by. This happened more then once. Yet the same people are uplifted as the answer to all of our problems. The Village as it were. If they could not improve their areas, then they will not improve anything else. When empowered, it is like the three stooges that is totally serious.

let's see that scientific experiment that confirms that? Since no one has ever tested with clouds, you're kind of making shit up!!!!! There is that.

You dumb fuck, we are doing that experiment right now, and confirming that what we have seen in the geological record is accurate. Add GHGs and the Earth warms. Add them fast and it warms fast. Add enough fast enough and you have a period of extinction. The seminal experiment on GHGs was done by John Tyndall in 1859.

nope, someone may be doing that experiment, but there is no way to know anything for another thousand years. You still are posting with data that doesn't exist. stop it already. Still waiting for you to answer CrusaderFrank's question, how hot is 120 PPM of CO2?
