Mexico is just a waypoint from the drugs coming from farther south. And I hate to say this, but they're also a valuable (ugh) trading partner.

I figure if we hit targets like Venezuela hard enough, Mexico with catch our drift and be a little more cooperative.

Well, it gets a bit dicier when the person you are fighting is right on your border with much easier access to retaliating.

Far better to cut the dragon's throat as far away as possible, then Mexico will take care of itself.
