You got to be kidding me. What country has parades of military equipment and make a big deal out of the "Dear Leaders" birthday? Do democracies do that? Or is it places like North Korea, Russia, and Cuba?

No hate needed at all. We don't like the federal government subsidizing speech. It's all about free speech, you can defend speech you hate and disagree with subsidizing speech you love. Is it okay to fund speech as long as we don't spend too much on it?

Does the government tell and direct NPR on what they say? How about Sesame Street....does the federal govt tell them what can be said or taught?

The government has been funding speech, that's the problem. Their total lack of objectivity is another problem.

The government also funds healthcare and food supplies for our military personnel. I do not begrudge them entertainment. And you bring up an excellent point. Rush's show thrived nationwide for decades without government assistance. Do you not think NPR can do the same?
