The question for you and other Americans is: Should America share center stage with China, Russia, and the Brics?

Fuck no. The US is a world power built on two things: Free trade (more accurately freedom of the seas which it enforces) and having the central currency.

Withdrawing from the world robs of us of both. And if the US relinquish power, someone else will take it. Probably China.

Ceding that kind of power to an centralized authoritarian government comes with consequences. We will not get the results we want. Our debt load alone will be unserviceable without the petro-dollar.

The US does all sorts of heinous shit. But on the whole, its used its power with a lighter touch than any of its potential replacements. And far lighter than its peers in history.
