Should people stand during the National Anthem? I think so. But it should never be a law or requirement. It's a personal choice. Standing to me merely means we are all Americans even if we agree on nothing. There is no other song would stand for.

There was one time I thought standing was taken was to far. I was playing in a soccer game at a large sporting complex and a few fields over the baseball game was about to start and they were playing the National Anthem. Since it was in earshot the refs stopped our soccer game and we all had to stand there and wait until it was over. WTF?
