Should calling someone Hitler be akin to calling someone the N-word?

The 1st Amendment "freedom of speech" (Canada doesn't have one) allows for hate speech. The problem for Americans who are called Nazis or Hitler is that there is little or no outrage in the media. However if someone uses the "N" word in a racist rant the freaking world comes to an end. It's all about the perception of racism vs hateful political rhetoric and politics always comes in second.

Using the N-word has been embedded in society as a slur that can allow any response. In fact, it's the method some use in a lie to say "well the reason I assaulted/killed him is he called me the N-word". It could be complete B.S and most of the time surely is, but some might say "well he deserved it". Absurd as such a response is to a word, some justify it as it is ingrained in culture.

I believe it's time to start applying the same standard to calling people Hitler. It's the most egregious term to refer to someone and clearly most don't understand history or they would be ashamed and disgusted with themselves for applying that name to anyone.

Even Stalin or Mussolini is more acceptable because as much as they were both horrible people, one reigning in fascism (that greatly influenced Hitler), the other bringing in a police state, tyrant leadership, neither of them invoked an industrial approach to genocide of a people, unparalleled in history and well recorded unlike any events in history. Moreso, neither of them began a war that ended in 80+ million deaths.

It's time to put an end to the damn name Hitler as a slur. If someone calls someone that, it should receive recoiling in society. I'm tired of hearing the false equivalency by the least informed people on earth who make the comparison. I don't care who they call this term, it has to be ended. The fact that politicians and media have used the term illustrates just how vile and unimpressive society has become. Almost using the Obama playbook for his re-election, "call them racists!".

As an aside, a direct name calling of nazi should be in a similar category. Yes, it's an easy and lazy way to describe the stormtrooper hatred of Judaism and humanity, but the nazis ended in 1945. Most of the former members are dead, some quite long ago.
true! Only memmbers of the NSDAP were Nazis

What if someone is acting a lot like Hitler?

What if they act like Putin. For example when Putin invaded Ukraine he said "this isn't a war" Sound familiar?

Bush stole the 2000 election. Many similarities between how he did it and how Trump TRIED to steal 2020.

Trump reminds me of lots of other fascists.

You right wingers sure are WOKE. Trying to ban words that can't be said. Words that trigger you. Then at the Super Bowl you had to create your own safe space where you didn't have to listen to Spanish music.

Stop acting like a Notsee we will stop comparing you to them. And that's why I call them Notsee's. They aren't exactly like the German Nazi's so I don't call them that. Better?

Putting up a video of Obama being an ape? Hitler never did that. Bush never did that. That's Trump's all by himself.
