There were 720 murders in all of Germany in 2019. That includes guns, and every other method of murder. We have that many every two weeks. We should be doing what they are doing.

Clearly they are doing something right and we are doing something wrong.

Yeah....they have an entirely different criminal culture than we do, and they don't have the democrat party judges and prosecutors releasing violent gun criminals from jail and prison over and over again.....You can also look at their rates of fatherless homes, plus their history of violently murdering 12 million Europeans....more people than our criminals have murdered in the same time period...

Yes......it would stop that. A government can't control a population that can shoot back....that is why in each of those cases the people were banned from owning guns and then they were confiscated.

When a population is armed, you can't have brown shirts, like the joe biden voters, burning and looting cities...notice that the cities here that were burned and looted were under democrat party control. That is an interesting question, btw. I know that the main reason of the 2nd amendment having been adopted (in theory at least) was enabling the people to resist a possible tyranny that takes away the people's rights. Not to prevent crime, per se.

Whether it is possible on practice remains in question.

It was written 233 years ago. You could defend your house with a musket. If the government wanted to take your city they could in short order. The whole gun-nut idea that you're going to stare down your government is stupid. The only reason it gets repeated is to try to justify the 30,000 or so gun deaths per year as being the cost of doing business because we can accept he gun deaths for the ephemeral and hilarious supposed benefit of being able to fend off the first armor division with your winchester.

Well, whether abolishing the 2nd amendment and confiscating guns reduce the death rate or not is also an interesting question. For example, Mexico has strict gun laws, but several its cities are in world's top ten regarding the murder rate.

It would reduce a death rate. A lot of gun deaths are self-inflicted--suicides. Suicide by gun is like 80% effective. Hanging, slitting the wrist, over dose, etc.... and most others are much less effective. So it would save lives if we had fewer guns just laying around.
