Shooting at church stopped by armed guard....but, I thought arming people was bad?

The days of a 36 year old pummeling a 64 year old who said the wrong thing or looked at his wife wrong are over
Yes, we can agree on that at least! If you don't have a gun you keep your mouth shut in America.

Because: M14Shooter says it best!

If you have a Gun a younger more fit Asshole is not gonna curbstomp you or break an orbital bone and blind you in one eye and give you a serious concussion that gets misdiagnosed as a brain bleed .

If you don’t have a gun you think twice about pummeling the nondescript victim lookin dude because he might not be trained in defusing situations and he could mag dump you & your backup without hesitation

Allow parishioners who have carry permits to sign up to be rotational security ( and have them cover Entrances / Exits and even do parking lot / property sweeps …
Allow concealed carry. The church me and my ol' lady go to have a don't ask, don't tell policy. They also have perimeter security. The preacher man was infantry in Vietnam. He understands "defense in depth".

Well it seems from the article like it was stopped by the guy in the pick up who ran over him, but whatever.

No.....that slowed him down allowing the armed guard to get there and shoot him...

From the original article...

"He was run over by one of our members who saw this happening when he was coming into church," Kelly said, which gave security time to fire back.

.

At my church, ushers stand at the door and most of them look like the carrying type.

A few times, a man has entered the Mass and sat in the first pews. My priest is not fazed at all, even though the man appears to be disheveled and possibly under the influence. He's obviously not a Catholic because he never receives Holy Communion, and does not seem to know the Mass at all.

God Bless our priest who grasps his hand at the end of Mass and invites him to come back. I have to trust Father's intuitive sense of the man.

The armed citizens who made up the security guards are not police, or military.......

Trombley and other safety team members, all average citizens with no police or military experience, have undergone extensive training in the event they encounter an active shooter. He says Sunday's nightmare underscores a harsh reality.

Just a thought that I'll throw out there. Why not come up with a system to reduce the number of crazies with guns.

We already have that.......but we know that crazies can get guns and other weapons.....that is why we have the 2nd Amendment.......we also have the 2nd Amendment because governments murder far more innocent people than crazies and criminals do....
