Shooting at church stopped by armed guard....but, I thought arming people was bad?

So if they post a social media comment that they're suffering anxiety etc.. how are their guns confiscated until they get better?
.

Beats me. I guess if someone has a history of treatment for mental illness, they cannot pass a background check.

Hopefully, a caring family member or neighbor will report a person's tendency in that direction. In many US states, there's a measure called red flagging.

Funny you guys are celebrating this like its a great thing. Almost all of these end in deaths. Even ones where there are armed guards and quick police responses.

Sorry these werent Iranian. I know you were hoping.

If Americans decided to work at home to stay safe from Covid19, could they also decide to pray at home to stay safe against .....................

Also to be considered: Will prayers be accepted that come from their homes?

So it begs the question, what's a privilege and a Right for gun ownership? So if you want a gun in the US, you go through a background check, if you want one in the UK, you go through a background check. Then you go buy a gun. If you own one and a red flag appears, they can be confiscated by the police.

Pretty much. There are groups fighting a lot of the regulations. I mean, when the Second Amendment was written, nobody had to ask the government for permission to own a firearm. But people were a lot saner in those days.

What was considered a right back then, way too many people consider a privilege these days.

UK government just sets laws, it's ya local police that deals with the gun applications and the checking procedure. These shootings will continue forever and a day because humans will be humans.

As kids, we used air rifles, air pistols, and a shotgun in the fields. It was never a problem. Then when idiots started shooting things they shouldn't, the clamp down started.

The biggest reason why the MP's came up with laws and regulations of gun design etc.., is because they know the public will shoot the arseholes in parliament.

Which is exactly what the US government is terrified of, and thus are indoctrinating their useful idiots to demand the end of.

I feel so sad for what my English friends have had to endure in the last 20 years or so. I try hard to talk them into moving to the States. They own nice properties in England and France, and could easily make the move culturally -- they love America.

A mass public shootings stopped by armed security.....it doesn't say in the article if the armed guard was professional or if he was simply an armed member of the church...

The security team was created 10 years ago......

This is why we have the 2nd Amendment......saving lives.

Well it seems from the article like it was stopped by the guy in the pick up who ran over him, but whatever.

I dinked with the colors to make it look more "realistic." The dickhead above this post thought it was real. :laughing0301:

Actually mine is exactly like the one you pictured, except it's the 3.0 model. I found it at a garage sale yesterday new in the box for $3 whole dollars, and it came with this:

The group BTW was some JHP 200 grain .44 magnum I loaded up last week. 26.0 grains of IMR 4227, standard large pistol primers, average 1330 fps. I could push them up to 1680 fps, but I was going for accuracy over power. Not bad for a 25 yard three-shot group from sandbags.
Asalt weapons have no place in society, They do keep the yellowjackets stirred up at my hummingbird feeders.

Maybe I need to try one. I can't keep hummingbird feeders because the yellowjackets are so evil.

An armed society is a polite society
It can also be a society in which men become cowardly because of their reliance on the gun to protect themselves. That then results in dead men instead of black eyes and bloody noses.

So you think Robbers & Gang bangers and psychopaths have gentlemanly & sporting morals ?
