MURTHA'S AT WAR WITH HILL
By DAVID SEIFMAN
August 30, 2006 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton came under fire yesterday from Rep. John Murtha for not speaking out more forcefully against the war in Iraq.
"I'm disappointed," said Murtha, a Pennsylvania Democrat who has become the party's most fervent war critic. "I think she has to be far more out front."
Murtha made his comments after endorsing City Councilwoman Yvette Clarke in the heated four-way Democratic primary in Brooklyn to succeed retiring Rep. Major Owens.
Clarke declined to join in the attack on Clinton, saying, "I really haven't focused on what Hillary's doing."
Clinton has refused to endorse an immediate troop withdrawal.
