Maybe the bank didn't want to fill out the endless forms for a transaction over $9,000.00.

I was at my bank a couple of weeks ago, and a customer was very irate because they would not take a large check, even for deposit, without getting some senior manager to approve it. He was middle-aged, white, and a customer who had an account there.

That Know your Customer agenda is just another loss of unalienable rights. The Globalists have slowly taken our rights away and we are asleep at the wheel.

wonder how this will go. racism will be very hard to prove. especially after she argued with him in the bank.

Banks are total dicks now. They have been taken over by the federal government and screwed so many ways that they in turn now act like the government and look for ways to screw you. Anything federalized becomes tyrannical, and that now includes both banks and healthcare. It is like they have absolute power and you have none. I've had banks refuse to cash money orders paid into their own system. I've had banks refuse to cover me on purchases where the seller ripped me off. I've had banks refuse to cash bank checks from other banks nor even admit the writer of the check was a real bank. I've had banks first unable to give me a key to my own safety deposit box, then harass and threaten me to come down and pick up the key.

The judge is the usual dummy in a dirty black robe, and should have thrown the stupid lawsuit out on day 1.

Well, she is justified; the bank was written from a PNC account. Often, banks don't want to cash a check unless you have an account with them, then they can insist they deposit the funds first in your account so they can collect interest from it first only allowing you to withdraw so much of it at a time.

But the bank also can simply tell you that they will cash the check, get in the money and pay you in a few days as banks no longer carry much cash on hand other than to cover normal transactions for their regular customers.

The article didn’t say that she was a customer. They are under no obligation to cash a large check like this for a stranger.
The check was drawn on the bank. Their customer wrote it.

If they had doubts about authenticity a simple phone call to their customer would have solved it.

A don't think racism is gonna be hard to prove at all.

only that it was drawn on one of their banks.

A lot of that abuse came curtesy of the U.S. Patriot Act but I believe the BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) as well as the SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) both predated it.

collect interest from it first
You've got to be kidding me although I'm not really surprised to hear this. They used to tell us that they needed time for the check to clear the account and the funds deposited.

Now days with everything done electronically it seems that there is very little need for an extended "waiting period" while the check clears.

So now the banks don't want to honor their own checks? I'm pretty sure that they're required by law to honor a check written against an account held at their financial institution.
