The Chinese elite have been profiting off of Western industries and wealth for decades. It may be a small chance but if the government they is in power during an economic collapse there may be consequences for their government.

A small chance perhaps, but Party membership runs deep and not everyone would be pleased.

I dont foresee the communist dictatorship losing power

But Xi and his gang could be overthrown by a rival communist faction

It's not a campaign against China, it's a campaign to get a better deal for America from China.
Speak for yourself

For everyone who has been paying attention its America against china all the way

I don't think you're right about that.
Just watch and see what happens, ok?
A rising tide lifts all boats. Many times no one has to be put down in order for them and another to be raised up.

What does that mean?

Do you support economic success for communist china?

Not to the detriment of America, no. However, there's no reason for trade to be a detriment either way.
Now military stuff, that's different.

I watched a travel blog the other night... small brained American I think its called... and the host went to China to take a boat tour of North Korea... he met and spoke with a young Chinese college student... he asked him what do you think about Trump... and the young man said he likes Trump... that Trump is for peace not war and Trump will pressure his government to relax their harsh ways and hopefully ultimately make China a better place to live...
He said although he has great sympathy for the North Korean people he wishes that the leadership of NK could change.... so his country wouldn't have to take care of them...
He also said he has never spoken with a foreigner before which I found fascinating....

This is where Trump can REALLY alter his global reputation, and perhaps that of libertarians in the U.S: he needs to call out human right abuses and speak proudly of Americas position currently and historically in the defense of civil liberties in the U.S and elsewhere.

As this Chinese college kid said, it is what I always hoped for too "stand up to ally and enemy alike as it pertains to human right and civil liberty abuses".

If Trump had said "this 25% tariff is going to be applied to human right abusers". Canada would alter it's system within a week. There would be massive top to bottom transparency, legitimate oversight and channels for citizens who have had their rights violated.

I've said for years that CSIS and the CSE (our CIA and NSA) have to take the abuses against domestic citizens human rights seriously. It is a major source of national security threats to Canada.

Unlike in the U.S, where American citizens on American soil do not fall under the purview of the CIA, in Canada, at least theoretically (they definitely operate in other countries as well); domestic intelligence collecting is ALL that CSIS does.

By the way, for all the criticism Biden receives from time to time, he has been fairly loud about calling out foreign leaders who violate human rights. He and his team took this seriously and they are right, U.S Goodwill on the issue of human rights is invaluable, worth MANY trillions of dollars.

Like him or not, agree with his decision or not, Biden called President Xi a thug. That's Trumpian type boldness.

China profits from trade with America and much of the money going into china’s military

Which is targeting America and our allies

No, they provided product, and we benefited from the product.

China has replaced the US as the biggest trading partner for Africa, Asia, South America and most of Europe.

The idea that the rest of the world is going to pooch good trade deals because Trump is having a hissy is laughable.

Shadow President Musk is already setting Trump straight.

Dummy. Tariffs never work. Look up Smoot-Hawley to see how well tariffs worked the last time we tried them on the scale Trump is proposing.

I cant see it now either

It was public this morning but its private now

I suppose the CCP managed to have it censured

You dodged a bullet this time because it was very bad news for your communist nirvana

So, what's up with all the new "Killer virus outbreak" crap in the news lately?

Are they getting ready for another national lockdown or WHUT ?

Or it was utter bullshit that violated YouTube's terms of service.

Also, it's spelled "Censored"

Those tariffs are minor... not what Trump is proposing, which will wreck the economy.

You need to look up Smoot-Hawley, and why it was a terrible idea.
