Jay Ferguson was one of the original members of Spirit, the amazing band from 1967 featuring Randy California, who was named such by Jimi Hendrix when they hung out for a short time. Recall Led Zeppelin toured with Spirit and thus the controversy over the Stairway to Heaven intro section sounding similar to Taurus.

Somehow stumbled upon this and remembered back in the day when it actually hit the FM radio ways. It is basically a pop song but if you listen carefully it is quite brilliant in terms of song structure and instrumentation.

saw jay with Spirit in late 1969 opening for Cream on their farewell tour....they were pretty good.....Cassidy the drummer was like 48 years old at that time....great band,should be in the Hall....
