Senate gone, Obama seats nominees

Remind me again what Obama said during his campaign about open, transparent government. And something about cleaning up DC?

For the record, lots of us disapproved of it from the GOP. We disapprove of it from the Dems.

How much longer do we have to wait before fools realize that the 'mommy, he did it too' defense is no longer an acceptable justification for crapping on "We, the People"?

How much longer does the President have to wait to fill his appointments? He's been in office over a year. The 'crapping on We, the people' is handicapping the agencies these people will work for...

President George W. Bush made 171 recess appointments; President Clinton made 139.

thanks for the confirmation that you're a hack, not that there was much doubt.

Really, del? Then answer the question...HOW LONG should the President wait to fill his appointments? 2 years, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...until he is out of office?

When Bush did his "appointments" did he have a supermajority in the Senate??

I like the new Obama

The old Obama was paralyzed by trying to reach a consensus

The new Obama realizes he has a job to do and gets it DONE

Khrushchev was more transparent then this socialist.

Well, if your dingbat had allowed the vote on the nominees, then President Obama would not have had to use this tactic. And if the nominees failed to get approved, you might have had a case.

This ought to be like shooting fish in a barrel. When, not if, one of these appointees messes up we can blame 0bama directly. Hope he vetted very very well.

he couldn't get democwats to vote for his radical bullshit.. and you call Republicans obstructionistt,, he is the biggest freaking loser on the planet,, I can't remember a single person in the wh with a freaking super majority who had to "make out of session" appointments and pass his cluster fuck bills by "reconcilliation" it's downright fucking humiliating.. innit?

Let's see: The Democrats blocked 5 of Bush's nominees in the 8 years of his Presidency.

The Republicans have blocked 77 of Obamas appointments in a year and a half.

It's clear (and no secret whatsoever) that the Republicans have adopted a policy of absolute obstruction in every way they possibly can. It has NOTHING to do with Obama's appointees, only with the republicans political strategy.

It is also very clear that the Republicans are NOT fulfilling their oaths of office: The are not executing the duties of their office, but are instead abusing the powers of their office to execute their obstructionist polical policy.

It appears it only takes a handful of Republicans to stop a majority of Democrats. It has NOTHING to do with Obama's appointees? Richard, you need to really slow down and take a good hard look at these socialists and union thugs.

Senator Blocks Over 70 Obama Appointments, Demanding Home State Pork

Senator Blocks Over 70 Obama Appointments, Demanding Home State Pork
Republican Senator Richard Shelby was criticized by the White House for blocking over 70 of President Obama´s nominees for administration posts in an attempt to force the government to fund projects in his home state of Alabama.

"It boggles the mind to hold up qualified nominees for positions that are needed to perform functions in a government because you didn´t get two earmarks," said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who said it points to Washington´s problems.

Shelby´s nearly unprecedented "blanket hold" on all Obama nominees is a strategy to get over $35 billion in federal dollars to have an Air Force refueling tanker and an FBI explosives testing center built in his home state

Naw, Willow, it is you who are downright stupid.

Sen. Richard Shelby of Alabama holding up Obama nominees for home-state pork - washingtonpost.com

The Obama administration received a rare political gift Friday that brought together a pair of issues the president is promising this election year to do something about -- pork and partisanship.

Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) announced that he would block administration nominees from Senate votes in an attempt to secure funding for two defense-related projects for his state. The use of the holding tool is often wielded anonymously. But Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) complained publicly about Shelby's effort to win tens of millions of dollars in federal money by delaying dozens of nominees from taking up government positions, including some in national security agencies.

See, this is what it is all about. Republicans trying to extort pork out of a Democratic Administration.

Oh, he's transparent alright - a true totalitarian thug to the core.

like the guy before him?

How pathetic.

Can't you Lefty Whackjobs ever hold Obama accountable without dragging Bush into the discussion?

No they can't. It's the entire basis of the left's fucked up agenda. Instead of carrying through with their campaign promise of true bipartisan government and transparency they justify their actions by saying Bush did the same thing....

How pathetic these ass hole drugged out hippies running the country are...welcome back to 1970's highschool bullshit.

Sorry you dumb old bastard...that's old news. Shelby already got what was VOTED INTO LAW BUT NEVER FUNDED BY THE DEMOCRATS for his State...you don't like politics then I would suggest "Bozo's Bigtop Message Board" for you.
