Senate conservatives led by Senator Cruz set to filibuster any Democratic attempt to raise debt limit

Politicians must be allowed to spend as much money as they want!
Trump sure did.

Donald Trump has arrived at his Palm Beach, Florida, resort for the 31st golf vacation there of his presidency, raising the taxpayer-funded travel and security total for his hobby to $151.5 million.

Trump has already played golf on his own properties 289 times since taking office in January 2017, although he claimed during his 2016 campaign that he would not have time for a vacation at all. “I just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off,” he said in February 2016.

GOP Mantra
Borrow money for wars and tax cuts for the rich... GREAT

Borrow money to invest in infrastructure, building schools, Setting up Childcare, investing in Healthcare.... THIS IS EVIL SOCIALISM

Bought parties borrow money... Actually Democrats decrease deficits...

The last 6 Democratic Presidents reduced the Deficit from when they got it to the when they gave it back.

The last 5 Republican Presidents increased the Deficit from when they got it to the when they gave it back.

Ah business as usual. When the Democrats are in the White House, suddenly the Republicans are Fiscal Conservatives again. When it is a Republican occupying the White House, the Democrats take on the title.

Then there are the fanboys who cheer each side as they oppose reckless spending of the other guys. Silent as a Church Mouse when their side is in charge, they are loud and proud in opposing the spending of the other side.
nobody says money doesn’t have to be spent…but there is a difference between spending ten dollars, and 100 billion

I hope you can see that

The problem is that Republicans are perfectly willing to spend the $100 billion. As long as it goes to their priorities.

An example. The Congress led by Republicans ordered the Navy to take a ship they didn’t want. Because it was built in a Republican District. Sure we were spending money we didn’t have. For something the Navy didn’t want. But it was good deficit money.

Now when you look at the budget and see we are spending Trillions we don’t have a measly $400 billion doesn’t seem like much. But it adds up quickly.

And both parties object to the other guys doing it.

This makes Cruz the natural replacement for McConnell and that should happen soon. After that we can work on McCarthy. The Republicans will never have any say with these two whining pussies leading the way.

In the nearly eight years since the first Littoral Combat Ship was delivered to the Navy, it hasn’t won many ardent fans beyond the Navy, its home-state lawmakers or the employees of the two shipbuilders producing dueling models. The ships’ maiden voyages have been marked by cracked hulls, engine failures, unexpected rusting, software snafus, weapons glitches and persistent criticism of how vulnerable they are to an attack.

“The ship is not reliable,” the Pentagon’s operational test and evaluation director said in a report released in January, only the most recent such judgment it has made. During 113 days of testing on one ship last year, some of the engines and water jets responsible for propelling the ship forward were out of commission for 45 days.

how about there is a difference between 400 billion and 3.5 trillion

yep and that’s why Cruz is trying to stop it…it’s far too big now.

Cruz always wants to stop it. When a Democrat is in the White House. When a Republican is in Cruz is a certain yes vote on any spending. That’s my point. His born again fiscal conservative is nothing but more hypocrisy.

well yeah a filibuster is by def action a little grandstanding.

Good for him though, this is worth the fight.

The last time we saw a dem do this it was to stop the civil rights legislation.
Not sure when the last Democratic filibuster was, but the last republican one was the last time legislation was proposed. A d the time before that, and the time before that, and the time before that...

Its not like this is anything new, the republican party is the party of "NO".

The Debt has already been added...

This is about paying the bill... This would basically stiff the creditors who lent the money...

Where was Ted when the Debt limit had to be increased to pay for the Tax Cuts?
The $3.2 trilion won't be4 added until it's passed by Congress, dumbass. Only Dims will be voting for it. They have never voted against a spending increase,
