The purpose of DOGE..
"The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is an initiative of the second Trump administration to reduce federal spending waste, fraud and abuse.
But is the a much deeper reason for this effort?

Donald Trump has suggested that the US could face a "depression" as he attacked a debt ceiling deal agreed by former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

The national debt payments is requiring In the federal budget, approximately 16% of total spending, or $478 billion in February 2025, goes towards debt payments.
In fiscal year 2023, around 60% of federal spending was mandatory spending. Of that, $1.56 trillion went to major health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid.

FACTS folks ...not guesses!
The total USA debt As of March 5th, 2025, the gross national debt of the United States is approximately $36.22 trillion.

Today without any efforts to cut reduce federal spending waste, fraud and abuse....the USA will be going broke!
Wasteful spending like these uses of Federal tax revenue from Americans!
Here are only a few examples of the WASTE and ABUSE:

  • $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”
  • $70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland
  • $2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam
  • $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia
  • $32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru
  • $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala
  • $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt

All of this wastefull spending has already been spent so, you'd expect that all of these findings will lead to less expenses for the next fiscal year BUT, so far, I have yet to see any of this materialize in any kind of a budget reflecting the savings. I am looking forward to seeing this. So far, all they have really talked about is all of the wasteful spending that has already been spent.

This is the third time since Monday I've seen or heard someone use the word "depression" and I'm not talking about a mental condition, speaking of '29.

You are 100% right! Most of it's been spent ....but..
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is pulling back $11.4 billion in funds allocated in response to the pandemic to state and community health departments, nongovernment organizations and international recipients, the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed Tuesday.

"The COVID-19 pandemic is over, and HHS will no longer waste billions of taxpayer dollars responding to a non-existent pandemic that Americans moved on from years ago," HHS Director of Communications Andrew Nixon said in a statement.

Now this is just an example of how many billions that were allocated by congress... yet never spent... but still caused a negative budget reflects than in increased national debt.
