Bessent does not back up Trump on China tariff discussions​

WASHINGTON, April 27 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Sunday did not back President Donald Trump's assertion that tariff talks with China were under way and said he did not know if the U.S. president had talked to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The thing is, trump lying has become so normalized hardly anyone bats an eye when another one is exposed. Still, the Sec. of the Treasury undercutting Don on national TV so soon after he told the lie about negotiations with China is a bit unusual.

The good news for trump is it will not diminish him in the adoring eyes of his base. Nothing ever does. The lies, the incompetence, the retention of incompetent staff (Hegseth), the policy disasters, the serial sexual abuse, none of it moves the needle with the ardently devoted. He has convinced them he is their retribution when in fact they facilitate his endless capacity for it.
 
Whether they are or aren't doesn't matter, unless there is a deal signed and enforced, the tariffs remain in place. All of the questions by MSM "do you have a deal with China"?

Who cares? Tell your Wall Street advertisers, backers or handlers to go fly a kite, national security comes first.

During times of war, the truth is often cloudy. America has been at war with China for 20 years, but only one of the two knew this...

im sayihg, it doesnt matter what MSM.asks or the answers they receive in this circumstance, what matters is what is completed. MSM are trying to pressure him to backtrack on tariffs and let China walk free. You are at war, would you like to have the public (and your adversaries) aware of every strategy being deployed in the event of a war?
