hmmm sounds familiar, where did I hear that technique before.
What can go wrong is when reassembling (my atom writer technique), it reassembles the body and brain but not the essential data/memory in your brain which is not break down & assembly able therefore it only works in conjunction with memory storage and reload, something google and IBM were said to be working on and estimated for around 20-25 more years from the date they stated it was 50 years away.
This also doesn't guarantee one would carry the same nature and mannerism aka spirit of being. It would just be a clone/twin with some memory of being but perhaps not exactly the same.

The teleported clone would think he's the same person (if the memories carry over) but it/he would only be a copy

technically memory can be copied like is done in computing, in a seperate sync process, but we'd need, besides the extraction technology, super storage capabilities needing nano computing to store that much data.
What some are missing is this technology in the future will allow to safely travel at super fast speeds because a body (which wouldn't survive) would not be needed till at the destination which also can lead to time travel, via photons that travel at the speed of light in the same way sound has been proven to in experiments.
