There is a difference between a lie and an error. People both lie and make errors but the first is intentional while the other was occurs due to faulty information, prejudice, or poor judgement. I can't stand it when I hear someone say "Ooops, I'm sorry, I lied" when what they should have said was "I was wrong". There is a world of difference.
You lie to deceive, it's not an error. A lie is the result of a maligned character. An error is something we all do and science, in general, is full of errors or theories that have yet been proven untrue.
