Schumer complains about Maduro arrest

No you are.
Sanders is a life long communist. Ask yourself what kind of person believes in an ideology thats fails 100% of the time. A fool a loser or liar. Choose one
We have the legal right to arrest a person under indictment anywhere in the world without telling congress. If we did Sanders would be on the phone telling Maduro we were coming one commie to another.
The Monroe Doctrine, declared by President James Monroe in 1823, was a U.S. policy warning European powers against further colonization or interference in the Americas, establishing the Western Hemisphere as a U.S. sphere of influence while promising U.S. non-interference in European affairs. Its key principles are separate spheres for Americas/Europe, no new European colonization, and viewing intervention in the Americas as hostile, becoming a cornerstone of U.S. foreign policy, notably to assert dominance and protect nascent Latin American democracies from Old World powers.
So you see I am not wrong

In early November, hours before the Republican-led Senate rejected bipartisan legislation to block the Trump administration from conducting a military attack on Venezuela, Secretary of State Marco Rubio sought to reassure lawmakers it didn’t intend to.

He told them that the U.S. lacked legal authority to invade the South American country and oust its president, Nicolás Maduro, and said that doing so would carry major risks, according to two people who attended the classified briefing.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Sunday blasted President Donald Trump following the capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, saying Trump’s “lawlessness” was pushing America into an endless war “with no discussion.”

But back in 2020, Schumer criticized Trump for not getting rid of Maduro. The New York Democrat said at the time Trump “brags” about everything but fails to deliver.

“Maybe the best metaphor was his claim to bring Democracy to Venezuela,” Schumer said during a Senate speech. “There was a big policy there. It flopped.”

“And the president brags about his Venezuela policy? Give us a break,” he continued. “He hasn’t brought an end to the Maduro regime. The Maduro regime is more powerful today and more entrenched today than when the president began [his first term].”

But his tune seemingly changed this weekend after the Trump administration arrested Maduro and flew him to Schumer’s state to face narco-terrorism charges.

On Sunday morning, Schumer told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week he had a number of problems with Trump’s Venezuela operation.

Schumer also said he had an issue with the Trump Administration failing to give Congress a heads-up on the Venezuela strike. Trump on Saturday told reporters he did not tell Congress about it beforehand because lawmakers have a “tendency to leak.”

Comment:
Chuck Schumer has once again proven that the Democrats have no real principles or integrity.
They are making asses of themselves once again.
Maduro was a corrupt Marxist dictator who was admired by crazy left wingers such as Sean Penn and Bernie Sanders.

I should do a poll on the likely number of USA military personnel who probably would have died during the arrest of Maduro IF President Trump had given a heads up to congress and then some of them passed critical information on to Maduro's team so that they would be waiting and ready for the Maduro arrest.

Of course we can only make a wild guess but obviously if professional mercenaries and bodyguards who have been trained in Cuba were to know when the USA action to arrest Maduro was actually coming, they would have been able to hit back at the USA forces pretty hard.

I believe that President Trump saved the lives of several if not likely more than ten USA special service operators by NOT informing Congress about what was being planned.

Sure there is a such thing as international law. You just want to ignore it. I bet you are a Sovereign Citizen type.
/---/ So where is the international controlling authority, and why didn't it stop Putin from invading Ukraine—along with the narco-terrorists in Venezuela?

Why didn't it stop Bush from invading Iraq?

Do you want the UN to have more power? I do. I wish it could step in and say no to any one country who wants to do something shitty.

No I'm not a she. More and more I'm realizing it's you Republicans who don't know what a woman is.

Eight European leaders have warned Trump to dial down threats to take over Greenland in the aftermath of capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

A statement comes after Trump said the U.S. “absolutely” needs the semi-autonomous Danish territory, and White House adviser Stephen Miller signaled the mineral-rich Arctic island could be taken by force.

The rallying cry does underlines the importance of NATO in keeping “the Arctic safe and to deter adversaries,”

“Greenland belongs to its people,” the statement says. “It is for Denmark and Greenland, and them only, to decide on matters concerning Denmark and Greenland.”

The statement was signed by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Does it matter? Gutless Republican's such as his head groupie Lindsey Graham are so far up Trump's ass it's a wonder they can even breathe. Trump could flip them the finger tell them "**** you" & they'd resond, "right now, Dear Leader"?

Add lickspittle Mike Johnson to the cowardly mix.
I think it very much matters that people like Sanders are lying to their dembot base, folks like yourself are obviously easily mislead and anger, and now that assassination culture has consumed your cult, it matters all that much more for follks like Sanders not to lie to you

They only wear masks to protect their identities and their families from doxxing, harassment, and physical threats. At least that's ICE's excuse. Us Liberals agree it's not right.
  • California's "No Secret Police Act" (SB 627): This new state law went into effect on January 1, 2026, prohibiting most local, federal, and out-of-state law enforcement officers from concealing their faces with masks, balaclavas, or other coverings while on duty in California. It requires visible identification, such as a name or badge number.
But Federal law TRUMPS state law and The Trump administration filed a lawsuit to stop the California law, arguing that federal agents do not have to comply with state mandates regarding their appearance while conducting federal operations.
