Conservatives favorite judge seems to be dissing the Anthem. He also looks like the "Grand Inquisitor". What's up with that?

You usually put your hand on your heart for the pledge of alligance. Standing at attention for the anthem is perfectly acceptable.

Also, technically, you are not supposed to clap at the end of the anthem either.

Wrong.

§170. National anthem; Star-Spangled Banner

The composition consisting of the words and music known as The Star-Spangled Banner is designated the national anthem of the United States of America.

§171. Conduct during playing

During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should render the military salute at the first note of the anthem and retain this position until the last note. When the flag is not displayed, those present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed there.

I'll be waiting for all the outrage from the right.

First, you're wrong.

Second, does he look like he's at attention to you?

Doesn't Scalia know you are supposed to remove your hat during the playing of our National Anthem?

It is called respect

He also doesn't look like he's wearing a little American Flag pin.

Holy crap!

How can we trust such a man with such an important position in our government?

He should step down immediately and a new Justice should be nominated.

Good quotes, i am corrected.

To be fair, Ginsberg looks like she is asleep behind Scalia.

This seriously is the news of the day?

Get a ******* clue. No one outside a few fanatics even noticed or care

Judging by the positioning of a number of hands, this picture was artfully excised and shows the crowd either immediately before or after the Anthem or Pledge. Sotomayor's hands look like they are folded in her lap. Someone just off scene seems to be waiving to someone.

Take another look.

Her hand is over her heart.

In case you haven't figured it out by now Katzndogz is a liberal troll posing as a conservative.

Sotomayor's hand is clearly over her heart. The just off the frame individual is taking a picture.

Call your optometrist. Time for a checkup.

Does he have a heart?

Honestly, I never do. Because I was taught you do that for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Oh, I always clap, and hold up a lighter.

And if the singer butchers the National Anthem, then I scream: Bravo, Bravo.
