Glaciers have been in decline since the end of the last Ice Age. What else is new? It is called "post glacial warming". It is nature's way of coming out of an ice age.

They are melting back down to a lower level because the world shifted OUT from the cold LIA of several centuries of building the ice fields to this warmer world where they unsurprisingly are melting.

It is why Glacier Bay, Glacier Park, Exit glacier and more started melting back over 200 years ago.
