is this "celebrating the bombing of Japan?"

No. It is apologizing for one's part in the tragedy of that war.

How is it that if Catholic leadership apologizes for corruption of Catholic church authority
that brought on the Reformation movement to liberate people from such corrupt authority
you would tout this as 'celebrating the Reformation'?
